    Who all that attend our lan evens on campus is 21?

    If their was enough interest, i’m going to try and host a 21 and up lan in the UC’s illusions room. (not kidding).

    Campus supports it, I believe its BYOB and not sure on liqueur. can work on the details later. Just a place to come hang out and game it up. They have darts and a pool table we can make use of. I was leaning towards consoles but if you guys wanned to do pc its all good.

    I just wanned to see the interest before i work to much to get this thing off the ground.

    serious post only please, or pm me.

    -grif

    Note: i will delete off topic post, please don’t reply if your not 21 or have never attended a WCU LAN event.

    Dice I like this idea it might be fun to get together and just hang out, kinda like what we are doing with Shane’s cook out, I think we should do more things like this :)

    I think it’s a good idea as well. Just wait till February so I can actually attend.

    yeah just so everyone knows this will be next semester… i’ll only have 2 classes so i’ll actually be able do shat

    i was thinking late jan early feb,, pending next semeser lan date,, kinda wont to do it inbetween 2008.1 and 2008.2 events

    i would think i need about 10-15 people min and no more than 30max, so let me know if this is something you would attend

    I would go, but there is no way I would bring my computer around you guys drinking. I’d just go to hang out and chill. I don’t mind a 21+ version of the cookouts however. But since they are successful, I plan to keep holding the cookouts as well. Are you coming to the cookout Dice? I don’t remember seeing you registered in the thread.

    I would love if somewhere on/around my campus did something like this, even though I’m not 21 I look like I’m 28 so its all good. I would expect a very good turnout for something like this dice. And smart boy kuros ;) I would never bring my pc around you drunks :D laptop if anything ;)

    Even though its 21+ and byob I’m pretty sure each person can only bring like 2 cans of beer max. No liquor is allowed. In my opinion its not really worth it since you can’t have enough alcohol to even catch a buz.

    fill beer bottles/cans with liquor :unsure: :blink: :o

    AMxErrill, i beleave the limit is between 4-6 but still, can come out and have a good time. the points not to get *edited* faced and toss a raver… and 4 highgravs will be enoulf to keep me happy. but i’ll have time to make make some good *edited* happen (without giving to much away) so, so far we have like 3 ppl? if this is going to take the next step i gotta see who would be intereasted.

    Policy #81

    WCU General Campus Policy For Alcoholic Beverages

    SCOPE: This policy statement describes: (1) where alcoholic beverages may be possessed on campus (2) the type of alcoholic beverages that are allowed on campus and (3) University requirements for service of alcoholic beverages on campus. Those administrative units responsible for areas where alcoholic beverages may be consumed are required in some cases and allowed in other cases to develop their own procedures, not to conflict with this policy, which provide additional oversight as necessary.

    Key Points

    U.C. Club Illusions. Only malt beverages and unfortified wine may be consumed at U.C. Club Illusions’ events. Consumption must be in accordance with the Club Illusions’ rules and procedures;

    Locations:

    * Ramsey Regional Activity Center

    * Jordan-Phillips Fieldhouse

    * University Outreach Center

    * M Bird Alumni House

    * Madison Hall

    * A.K. Hinds University Center

    * Center for Applied Technology

    * Fine and Performing Arts Center

    * Other locations deemed appropriate by the Chancellor

    Purpose: The rationale behind the development of a BYOB policy for the University Center Illusions Club is:

    4. To provide a model for how to implement a responsible social event at which alcoholic beverages are present and to assist in changing the campus “social norm”

    6. To empower our students to develop, implement, and monitor a successful program to serve the social needs of our students

    A. Amounts and Types of Alcoholic Beverages

    The Amount of alcoholic beverage a person may bring to a BYOB event is four 12 oz. cans of beer or malt beverage or four 10 oz. containers of wine cooler.

    Dispensing Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages

    All beverages at BYOB events must be dispensed by approved persons called “servers” that are trained by a TIPS certified trainer and are at least 18 years of age. The servers are employees of the University Center unless otherwise approved by the Director of the University Center.

    G. BYOB Event Registration

    Only University organizations may register for and sponsor a BYOB event. For the purpose of this policy, the term “University organizations” includes registered student organizations, university departments or offices, or any other unit of Western Carolina University. Events must be registered at the University Center Administrative Offices and must be approved by the University Center Director or his designee.
