When I worked for Duke Energy I tagged trees to cut a few times a week. It’s not something we like to do but it’s much better than answering the phone when you call about a power outage. Then again, we’ve automated that

Duke had lots of problems with Ohio until that wind storm a few months back pretty much took down every tree Duke had previously tagged but couldn’t touch. Interesting how that sort of thing works out in the end. (lol)

Herbal’s in NH, but he’s like right on the MA/NH border and he’s had no power for the last few days. Well, actually they have a generator, but it’s being used for the fridge, heat, and I think only the living room tv. He’s been visiting friends and staying over cuz he’s so bored at home.

I’ve been telling people the same thing. I also blame global warming.

But when you figure in secondary costs such as tearing down and disposing of power poles, tearing up people’s driveways, getting permits of city limits work, buying digging equipment, buying new line, replacing the entire service fleet. It’s really not worth the added cost.

Is it really that uncommon to have snow in the northeast in December? Come on quit being retarded.
Global warming was invented to make Al Gore rich. His movie is so inaccurate that the Brits won’t even allow it to be showed in their schools. The sooner people quit listening to him, the better off we’ll all be.

Don’t call me retarded, plzkthx.
By the way, in NJ, it’s very spring-like. Today was probably around 60ºF. I walked around in a light hoodie, jeans, and flip-flops.

My comment was directed at your belief in something they have yet to come close to proving.
As to temperature shifting and weirdness, it’s nothing that hasn’t happened before. All throughout the 20th century the kook media shifted between global warming and global cooling to try to push whatever agenda suited them at the time. If you’ll go back and look you’ll actually be surprised at how often this stuff seems to repeat itself.
Even now FDR’s New Deal is about to be reborn.

It looks like you asked if it was uncommon for it to snow in the northeast in December and then called me retarded, when I didn’t even say anything about the northeast. What I was saying was that for it to snow in places like Texas and Louisiana, it is uncommon (and a friend in Las Vegas just told me it’s been snowing and raining all day and there’s ice all over the place).
As for global warming, I do believe that the world IS warming up. The cause of it — I’m still kinda iffy about.

Anyways, less than 30% of their profits come from residential areas.

I know Texas has focused their generation towards renewables and they take much longer to bring back up than traditional coal and nuclear. Nuclear plants are practically indestructable.
