SpectatorProblem: I log on join the server (any server). I get about 1 – 2 minutes of playing then i get kicked! I get a message that says:

I’v tried everything i can think of to turn off any firewalls. I’v looked at the website and it talks about firewalls and stuff. I’v allowed ports in my current anti virus program (AVG). After that didn’t work, i uninstalled it. That still doesn’t work.

SpectatorI agree with xray. I’ve done the log off and log in/ re-enter name and pass. That usually worked for me. But if your getting this consistently even after that… I guess I’m baffled.
I full blame steam.

SpectatorIf you do a google search you can see several others have experienced this same problem. I didn’t see any sure fire resolution in the few sites I visited. Most say to log off/on, restarting computer, re-installing steam. I am sure it will eventually go away, its just a temp steam thing. whats new?

I am going to contact them via phone / email / chat and yell at them. I also can’t connect to steam friends.

try delete steam.dll
you probably a corrupted file that handles VAC connections… It tends to happen a lot with Css… well for me atleast

SpectatorTry with your firewall off.
April 25, 2009 at 4:25 pm #82426XRAY
SpectatorHmm…Try doing a system recovery Maybe that will help O.o other than that check to see if any program are blocking connections from steam.

SpectatorIf you’re out of ideas, system32 time?

So basically he can’t play anymore? No, he needs to either turn his firewalls off, uninstall any proxy programs, and do a complete reinstall of steam. There’s nothing wrong with his computer, it’s a wrong setting or config somewhere.

1. Reinstall steam
2. Reinstall cs:s
3.??
4. Profit??

SpectatorNo.
Try connecting to a VAC server in HL2DM or DoDS. Alternatively you can try TF2 or L4D although they are a different engine and the problem may not be affecting them.
If you have the problem in the other games listed above:
1. Turn off ALL firewalls
2. Set router to DMZ your port/IP/MAC
3. Disable all proxies
4. Do a complete uninstall of Steam and manually delete all remaining files (save your configs)
5. Reinstall CSS ONLY and try to connect to a VAC server
