Thor
SpectatorThis is just an Idea i have, kinda of a remake of one i did couple years which was a remake of a previous flyer.

I know not great but its just a general design I wanted to make in publisher vs. the first version I made a year or so ago mostly in paint.

Spectatorthese are so eye catchy once hung. also (else the bottom) they are B&W and anyone can print them. AKA free from labs, or at least the ones in belk.
Thanks for the early start. I like seeing progress early and not everyone scrambling at the end. Kudos to Thor!!!

SpectatorVery nice Thor!

SpectatorI wouldn’t mind seeing a little more color, but it looks nice. Personally, I don’t think the schedule is necessary. After all, one of the reasons the last batch were so late was because we waited so long to approve the schedule.

SpectatorLooks alright. Maybe replace the black outline of LAN with purple?

Belk labs went to pay-to-print this year.

Spectatoryou all have to pay to print??? we get 20k (pages) free black and white, along with a certain print balance every semester for color.

November 2, 2009 at 10:08 pm #96333Thor
SpectatorWe got $70 and a print card that didnt work and said “SGA aminia Club”
November 2, 2009 at 10:10 pm #96334MasterP
SpectatorAll UNC schools have pay-to-print.
November 2, 2009 at 10:41 pm #96338Thor
SpectatorThese are different variations of the flyer according to comments, the schedule is mosly a space filler.
November 2, 2009 at 11:01 pm #96341melatonin
SpectatorMaybe fill the LAN letters with orange to make it more eye catching?
November 2, 2009 at 11:05 pm #96342Thor
SpectatorJust for some info a B&W = 5-10 cents
Color = 15 cents
We get about 125 copies

Spectator125 copys, what happened to the 250?
November 2, 2009 at 11:33 pm #96344Thor
SpectatorOut of the 2 semesters ive been marketing they always said 120, if we posted in sylva then 250 for sure
November 2, 2009 at 11:36 pm #96345MasterP
SpectatorWe could always ask Keith for more.

Spectatorwhen I was MA it was 150 then I printed 100 b&w ones myself from my own printer
November 3, 2009 at 8:55 am #96360ManlyMoose
SpectatorIf you head over to SCC they still have free printing in BW at their library.
November 3, 2009 at 8:55 am #96361MasterP
SpectatorKeep in mind that campus printing is much different this year than it was last year. All the printers are managed by a 3rd party company that the school pays per sheet printed. They can no longer directly eat the cost and write it off and any page printed for us has to be budgeted.

SpectatorIt might be wise to remove the words “cash prizes.” I don’t know if we can get in troble over that, but I don’t think we should take a chance.

After getting screwed by saying we’d have pizza it’s probably best if the only things definately laid out on it are the date, times, and games.

But if you do include one, I’d say divvy it up between a PC column and a Console column (and maybe give a rough guesstimate as to how long a tourney will run). That way you won’t end up with people who skip the registration and show up who wonder why they can’t play two games they thought would be back-to-back (3pm, 4pm), or who wanted to play CoD4 PC and find only CoD4 Console…
Also, about the prizes – maybe say “tournament prizes offered” or something… it’s more generalized…
November 5, 2009 at 12:39 pm #96618Falcon
SpectatorAlso, it’s a 1, the number one, not a L, the letter between K and M… geez.
November 5, 2009 at 1:04 pm #96622Ephraim
SpectatorMake it look more like this:
November 5, 2009 at 1:33 pm #96625Thor
SpectatorThe last flyer i did have the tourneys divied up i was thinking of doing it that way again just wanted to see how this format worked out.
February 1, 2010 at 1:19 am #96804FTE Kaz-Ka
SpectatorJust as a little update, we are going to go to the print shop tomorrow to have them printed.
February 1, 2010 at 1:20 am #96806MasterP
SpectatorCan you post the ones that were decided on?
Also, are the PC tournaments listed? I know in the earlier revisions none were.
