I checked it out.. this is pretty awesome.
They’ve closed beta accounts so I couldn’t get it but the page is up on steam. It’s really a big update, so everyone who currently owns CS:S will get this eventually. It looks pretty awesome..
Not just achievements, but !!!
1. Long awaited and thought to never come source updates like tf2
2. Cinematic death thing-a-ma-jig .. I guess like tf2
3. Life-time stats .. like tf2
3. Dominating and and such like tf2
3. Avatars on the new scoreboard .. like tf2 and 1.6
and that’s just a few more things that I’ve read about.. seem to be basically making it more like tf2.. I’m pretty excited and wish I could have gotten in on the beta
I’m worried about it moving to the orangebox engine. It doesn’t have the shot registry accuracy that the HL2/EP1 engines have.
there’s got to be some way you could just copy over some files or something… I really want to try this out
For some reason illegally downloading a beta to a game I already own seems a bit much though…
I havent seen assists yet, it would be weird to add assists to CS since you don’t get points per kill, etc.. it just goes up to K/D, etc. They would have to add an entire point system for assists to work. Either way, the beta is pretty fun but it’s still CS to me >>;. Too much BC2 has ruined it!
If I wanted to play COD4 or TF2 I’d play them.. CSS doesn’t need lifetime stats, It’s just going to further the whole “I’m a pro lululul check my KDR” Pubstar attitude…
I’d rather they develop a new CS than bring lame updates personally.

Look here some of us actually have to try to do good and are not gifted with lawlerences haxs.

you know they stop giving it away on the 24th.. the logical thing to do would be to have a bunch of steam accounts with free portal and then sell them once the giveaway stops..

Well, I didn’t buy the Orange Box for a few reasons…
A. I already had HL2 and didn’t feel the need to pay full price for add-ons.
B. As a old TFC player/league player, TF2 looked and sounded kind of like it completely changed the game. I mean, I’m sure it’s good, but it seems ALOT different and some of the things that made TFC such a fun league game were taken out…
C. I wasn’t going to buy Portal by itself for 10$.
