Hey Guys,
The gaming club is changing some policy. Basicly we are looking for an individual that will have alot of time on their hands and is willing to spend time on the 1.6 server to help get it popular again. We are looking for an active person who does not have to be a student to become the council leader for the 1.6 server. Again we are looking for someone who can increase the daily traffic inside the server to bring it back to life.
I have heard that alot of our population is on the hotel server. Well lets get them back. Find out what makes their server better and then talk to us about making the changes. At this point there will not be any votes on plugins. We will simply try new things. The person who is appointed to the position will go through screening and must obey all the rules put in place. They will have had a clean record for the most part.
We will be watching the server player hours. So happy fragging and good luck.

im sure i will kick myself later for forgetting someone, but these are the guys who are highly active and would be a good CL
well we are all part of a council.
I think one big thing is map changing. The person who is the council leader will have that access. So that they can delegate the maps played. They will need to spend alot of time on he server. That is the key. Time.
I should totally still have powers to still change tha mapp..it comes in handy not to have to vote it all the time..amx_map scoutzknivez.. yo..I am going to try to get it going again..I can make the server happen..chyeah…Loot.

Well I feel the person that is made the CL has to be someone that is both responsible and popular amongst the community (or community we are trying to get back). If someone’s E-friends finds out they are now the CL they may want to go support this new person. I’m not saying we should solely judge this on a popularity contest but if we have 2 people up for the position that both seem equally responsible then “popularity” should play a role.

By Hotel, you mean Hotel California?
I’ve seen a lot of people playing in the PGN servers as well. I don’t really play CS anymore because I’m addicted-as-*edited* to WoW (again) but if theres anything I can do, just msg me on IRC. I still use that and check these forums daily.

I think we need to go and look at the top 25 servers out there and see what they are doing and then emulate that
general rotations of normal maps is all fine and dandy but i think people are tired of it.
I am honored as well the make the list. I think that having the people in that list be as active as they can and maybe having 2 cls for 1.6 that way one will always be on.

I’m just going to assume you are talking about Hotel California.
In no way shape or form are the Hotel Cali servers better than WCU. Honestly, that community is run by middle aged power hungry men. I’ve been banned from those servers so, so many times. They have the worst rules imaginable and the admins enforcing them are *edited*ing idiots. The reason some WCU players have started playing there is simply because no one plays in the WCU server anymore..its not really about who runs the server and stuff, its just wanting to play CS.
I’m sure a lot of regulars open up CS to play, check their favorites and see 0/32 in the WCU server and then connect to another server. I think the map rotation did put us where we are now, but we’re passed that. If you want to fix the server, don’t focus on a rotation, work on getting a decent amount of traffic back and then work on a rotation. Getting the traffic back will be the biggest challenge though.

all I’m saying is if people don’t vote when I put up a votemap that needs to be changed..like when the server crashes on a map so I can change it back to it instead of redo the rotation..or if no one is there so I can change the map to a popular map to get it populated..I don’t just change the map for no important reason..you know? I’m trying to help the Club out…Loot.

What admins are still active in 1.6?
we have like 8 billion registered but only a few still are active here…
I think we need to wipe all of the admins except the ones that are still active here and start over.
That is exact;y what I was thinking Liam. I am active, poop and major are active, Ive seen toran recently but idk wats going on with her, loot is on, briefs is on and pwning… idk.
