SpectatorBlack Mesa: Source, now dubbed Black Mesa. The complete recreation of the first Half-Life with new models, physics, and level design utilizing the Source engine. A work in progress for about five years, it is allegedly coming to completion by the end of this year.
I’ve been tracking this for a while, and am severely looking forward to it.
Thoughts, comments, angst, blasphemy?

Well I mean, that guy makes it look so pro, whereas it will still take me 1.5 hours to do it lol. I noticed he did that on easy – I bet there is no way he could have made that run on hard.

Spectatorwow I just learned how much you can skip in that game from watching that video

SpectatorThe only 2 games I’ve been able to pull off the bunny hop are Tribes 2 and Unreal Tournament 1999, LOL.

if you notice, it has the source engine physics and explosions, but that’s about it

Spectatorand the better water effects.
but seriously it was a disgrace.
back on topic… I thought they had originally said the beta for BM:S was supposed to be released by year’s end?
September 28, 2009 at 3:36 pm #93060MasterP
SpectatorIt’s a beta for a source game.
Treat all source-engine release estimates like you treat Valve’s release estimates.
“By year’s end” = March 2010

Spectatoryeah I will be shocked if they finish it in time.
anyways, might as well post this; its old but still awesome and gets me pumped for the game watching it.

Side note: anyone else think its strange how none of the media they have released has shown anything at all from Xen? That was a good amount of the original. If they haven’t even started on xen yet, no way they will have it done until at least mid-2010.

SpectatorI refuse to believe they haven’t started on Xen yet; Think of how cool Xen will look matching the rest of BMS. Maybe they’re saving that for release.
