SpectatorSince the server is new we’ll have to configure it properly and have things set up right, otherwise it isn’t as much fun
. Once it is set up though

Spectatorlet us know when its ready, i need a regular server to play on with people who will work together instead of run around randomly. I think the game will be a lot more fun with people who use intricate teamwork

SpectatorAnd for the love of God have FF on, it is a must for people like me who like to use spy, it makes it more fun for us, because no I disguise in a base and there is always a soldier or pyro who automatically shoots everyone they see cause they know a spy is in their somewhere, with FF they won’t do that as much.

SpectatorI read on steamforums that there are no more FF servers.
from tonights tf2 update:

Spectatorspies are plenty strong with ff off. Its easy to get kills with them if you know how to play them right. I would say its possible that they would be too strong if ff was on. Its so easy to backstab half the opposing team before they realize you are there, especially in servers with max populations of 11 or 16 or so.
In other news, when is the server going to be operational? I tried to join a couple days ago and it said i couldn’t because of different versions or something. I never see anyone in it.

SpectatorToad, without FF on it makes it easy for the defending players to defend the base from spies, infiltration should be one of the easiest tasks of a spy. All the opposing team has to do is shoot at anyone on their own team to spot a spy, now how in the world does that make it easy? No doubt I still get kills with the spy and yeah I am pretty good with them, but I can’t do my entire job cause some people know to shoot at everyone. If FF still existed this would not stop them from doing that they just could no longer shoot at everyone, it would only mean that now they couldn’t do it without penalty. Understand my point now?

SpectatorThe big problem with FF off is damage control. It really is extremely hard not to accidentally kill your team when u have rockets, demo nades, inaccurate weapons, sentry guns, AND people looking for spies. The one time I found a ff=on server it wasn’t as fun as I thought it would be. I personally don’t mind that they took ff out of the game. I got around 21 hours logged as a spy and I still do pretty well in most circumstances. Originally I was a huge supporter of ‘hey lets turn FF on for spies!’ However, after playing on that server I really got the feeling that it took away more game play than it allowed.
Either way ff=off permanently for now so it is a moot point.
You can check bitey’s stats thru the friends list, assuming he is in the wcu gaming group on steam.

For one, they always have the default gun out as whatever class they are imitating. So they won’t, for instance, have a baseball bat out. They can’t shoot a weapon, so if they aren’t shooting anyone, u know its a spy (or an idiot). Your safest bet would be to try talking to them and shooting everyone. Anytime I’m a spy I just hit the talk key to let my team mates know that I’m not an enemy.
Anywho, sleep time.

Either way, I meant that I push my ‘talk’ button when I am playing any class. It’s annoying getting chased and shot by your team mates all the time just because they are looking for a spy. Nothing game breaking, just annoying as hell for me. Thus, I’ve found several ways to avoid having to do it to other players and how to let other players know I’m a friendly ‘any class.’
It is obvious, within 2 minutes of a persons first time playing the game, that a friendly spy looks like a friendly spy with a mask on
. However, thanks for the update! After 22 hours of playing a spy I couldn’t possibly know that
.
