With as much coding as I’ve done on the Source and Orange Box codebases I can tell you that it IS a bug with the OB code that makes the menus vanish.
The only reason those other mods keep the menus up is because they spam the server with menu requests. That is BAD.

Its a hackish workaround and places unnecessary memory demands on the server. Mani did it right. Don’t trash him for that. -.-
As for the plugins breaking. I’ve got a fix for that I’m going to put on as soon as I get with Bitey.
The other stuff we can talk about.
HLStats doesn’t break. Only the plugin that broadcasts the stuff to the game breaks. It still records your points.
