“Being an act to amend the SGA Financial Bylaws.”

WHEREAS: The current section in the WCU-SGA Finance Bylaws reads:
“Article III: Part II Clubs & Organization Authority (30%)
Section 802.8
Each club that receives SGA funding for the fiscal year must have a member who will act as their primary liaison to the SGA Office. That individual assumes the responsibility for the financial affairs of their club\organization. Two student representatives and an advisor will have their signatures authorized at the beginning of the year and thus the Club?s account is activated. Club\Student Organizations must attend SGA General Body meetings. Missing more than 1 SGA meeting per semester will affect the Clubs\Student Organizations eligibility to receive supplemental funding.”
WHEREAS: Attendance at General Body Meeting is extremely low.
WHEREAS: The current language is too vague and does not set a clear consequence for missing meetings.
THEREFORE LET IT BE ENACTED: That the Financial Bylaws be amended to read the following:
“Article III: Part II Clubs & Organization Authority (30%)
Section 802.8
Each club that receives SGA funding for the fiscal year must have a member who will act as their primary liaison to the SGA Office. That individual assumes the responsibility for the financial affairs of their club\organization. Two student representatives and an advisor will have their signatures authorized at the beginning of the year and thus the Club?s account is activated. Club\Student Organizations must attend SGA General Body meetings. Missing more than 2 SGA General Body meetings per semester will prevent the Clubs\Student Organizations from receiving supplemental funding for the remainder of that semester.”
