The trick to populating a server is gaining regulars via community. How many people on the CSS server do we know at least a little something about their personal lives? When I talked to App State about what it would take to save their CS server they laughed in my face (and remained dead). Community is the key. We need to go in the server and sit around until we get some players and then (as cheesy as that sounds) get to know them. Let them get to know you. Ask anyone off campus why they play on our CSS server and they will tell you it’s because of the community. In all technicality, this is the job of the council leader. Since it’s break, I haven’t really been worried about it, nor have I attempted to populate it myself more than once. It takes more than just the CL to pop a server. If Cacophony will let me, Nickname, Kappamerc and a few others, like probably Bitey, know when he’s going in, we will gladly jump in and play as we have been doing. What we need to START doing is talking to these people when they come in. Like: “How’s it going? Where you from?” This is the stuff we need to be doing.
