The point of the cancellation of memberships was to increase club revenue. Not just because of hassle, or so I recall. We’re losing $10 per person that buys a membership. Honestly, $5 is not that much at all and I think everyone can afford it. We need the extra money to buy prizes to help attract people, thus attracting sponsors to cover what our current ones don’t (such as consoles) or get bigger and better prizes for our current tournaments.
That’s what I remember from the meeting and I think its a good idea, at least for the time being, to not have memberships.
