As i work for redbull now, had the girls show up at our kickoff meeting and they reported to my manager that we wernt really stoked about seeing them. as far as the lan,, i’m trying get them to come up again,, but its not looking good, as they went impressed last visit.
The timing by Red Bull was not so great at the last lan, as stated before. The Red Bull people arrived during a time in which most PC Gamers were involved already in a tournament. I know it was unavoidable and it was unfortunate, but as stated earlier it wasn’t as though we weren’t appreciative.

maby the group of execs going to the app lan will see how they run things and get their eyes opened to what we can be as far as sponsors/infrastructure and community
What? I’ve seen more than enough people who come into our servers who do not even KNOW when App’s lan is. App’s forums were recently redone and wiped clean, they BARELY had 50-100 posts in WEEKS, compared to 50-100 in a day here. App’s server is EMPTY 3/4 of the day while we are FULL 3/4 of the day, ranked in the top 50 for CS and in the top 150 for CS: S. I FAIL to see how we’ve driven this club in the wrong way and FAIL to see how we aren’t doing anything correctly. App has more local sponsors available to them and most of their other sponsors we already have. RedOctane is one of the only large sponsors I see that App has that we do not, and I have voiced many times to send RedOctane an email asking for sponsorship, but unfortunately this was within the 1 month time frame and we would not have gotten their sponsorship.

Sorry but it is in the official constitution… It might be a joke but our sponsors won’t get it and they matter. And you guys might have voted on spending the money but it is not in the minutes…thus did not officially occur (at least according to SGA). And if as Dice said we don’t really have RedBull then why don’t we have Bawls? Just trying to understand that one. ComputerDynamics…he only quit being our sponsor because he didn’t like the person that went in there…don’t know who it was, but I know Tony and that is how he operates. He loved me and Adam and he really liked Dice. He really detested Josh, and I don’t know how he feels about Shane. But if he’s not sponsoring then the person that went in there did so with the wrong attitude and cost us that sponsorship.
Do we send our sponsors the official constitution or the constitution that we have that says that Mitch has to come? We send them to the official one. About the voting not being in the minutes, that’s out of my hands as Trackpad should have put it in there, and I know he counted votes, so I’m sure it was just an honest and simple mistake.
Dice hasn’t communicated with ANY of us about RedBull not being happy with us. This is the FIRST time I’ve heard a single bit about it. Maybe he’s said things to Shane but I haven’t heard a thing, and as acting VP I believe I should be informed as well. If we KNEW RedBull was unhappy with us we could’ve and would’ve asked both companies. As far as I knew we were in good standing with Red Bull, I mean Dice brought it in for the first meeting and it was great! How are we supposed to know and have enough time if no communication is made?
As far as ComputerDynamics, as I said before I just know what I was told. He may not like Shane and he may like him, I do not know.

Whoa now. I paid 10 at the last LAN because I was told it would carry over to the next year. Are you saying I dropped the extra five just for the hell of it then? I’ll be a tad bit displeased if that turns out to be the case.
You’re fine, you won’t have to pay again. What she wanted was to allow people to pay for the 4 LANs at the beginning of the year but afterwards if you did not have a year long membership, that you would have to pay $5 at the next 3 LANs. Instead it was voted otherwise and a member can purchase a year long membership anytime and it will carry over for 4 LANs. Granted her system would be a lot less work and stressful, we wanted it so that people who pay to get in at first to “test” everything out the option to pay for year long membership later, not to mention students that come to Western during the Spring.
