Check Sears if you have one in your area. I got an amazing deal on a Series 4 Samsung 42″ plasma. Some people don’t like plasmas, cause of the burn-in issue, but the newer models have burn protection. Granted they use more energy and weigh more, but to my knowledge plasmas (the one i have at least) run at around 600hz vs. LCD’s of equal or lesser size running at 60-120hz. The dynamic contrast ratio is higher with certain LCDs, but i can hardly tell the difference. Anyway i got the 42″ for 499.99, which is pretty *edited* good. You might be able to get a 32″-40″ LCD for that price, but good luck. The best buy lady probably was bull*edited*ting me; apparently the parts in an LCD tv are more expensive than ones in a Plasma.
But if you have the cash, then get a 55″ LED for the win.
