You know I don’t normally post on stuff like this, but I think this needs to be said. I don’t agree with server spamming or idiocy anymore than the next person, but the way this guy’s case was handled on ban appeal was somewhat unreasonable. If he does it more than once don’t give him respect, but he did dumb stuff once and you guys mess with him on bans like it is a joke too you. He said sorry and it was his first offense give the little guy some slack and stop threatening perma-bans and being jerks to him. I have been in this community long enough and I really never saw crap like this before till I got a little curious and saw his ban appeal thread. I have seen a lot of club presidents in place and this was just an awful handling of this situation. (This tyrannical BS is dumb.) Just really immature conduct by administration and whether you take my opinion as reasonable or not that is fine, but that is my opinion. I have always been against abusive administration and when you talk down to people in a server like they are servants and treat them in this manner I don’t think it is very good representation of your club/school.
MasterP’s comments on the situation were awful and I even thought he was a very reasonable admin on the way he handled stuff in the past. You know maybe being on the outside looking in is different and I don’t play CS Source, but I just don’t stand for behavior of this manner from adults that are suppose to know better. :/ I really had a lot of respect for you MasterP on how you took situations lightly, but when you say stuff like “Just unban you? You don’t see why spamming is bad?” when I am pretty sure he knows it is bad, is asking to be unbanned, and saying sorry of the situation is immature. He understood his ban was for 30 minutes for spamming the server so if the 30 minutes are up don’t keep him banned and disrespect him. He did his time for the crime give it up. He does it again perma-ban him. Case closed.
Also comments from Lemm like “I’m tempted to leave the ban on for a few days but I’m not.” Seriously? Glad power has a resonance of arrogance to it. You may be club council and the higher authority and that is too be respected, but statements like that are just poor in judgement. Don’t think you are above everyone else just because you have a position of authority. Try to better your community with the responsibility you carry and not use it too your advantage.
I normally don’t say stuff like this, but I just am like wtf has happened over the years that makes you people act and treat people in this way. I know people on the servers and their issues get annoying to deal with after awhile, but that is why you took this role for WCU because you felt that you had time to dedicate to problems like these. If you don’t step down and let someone else have it. I am not saying I could do a better job, but if I volunteered for a position and decided to keep it I would make sure to treat people a little bit better than this. This is very unbecoming of a group of people I have been playing with for quite some time and have learned to love and respect. (Even if I don’t always show it. :/)
I am sorry if you don’t like what I have to say and don’t agree with it, but I just think it is a misrepresentation of your club too a mass community.
Again I apologize and I don’t hope this is misunderstood as trolling or an overzealous lash at authority. I just don’t think toying with people on ban appeals is a reasonable form of behavior from a club representing a college.
