So some of you might have noticed that I…. well… haven’t been playing a whole lot of video games lately. The reason is I have been getting my game fix from board games. Euro games, to be exact. I’m not talking about Monopoly here, but real games that actually require skill and strategy. If you are ever interested, check out boardgamegeek.com. The best games are the ones rated at the top, but specifically I recommend Dominion, Pandemic, Agricola, Carcassonne, Power Grid, 1960: The Making of the President, and Race for the Galaxy. Those are pretty *edited* good games.
I am also starting to join some local strategy gaming groups here in the triangle; one that meets every tuesday night in cary and one that meets every 3rd friday of the month in Durham. If anyone is in the area and wants to join up, let me know, or I would also be more than willing to teach these games if anyone wants.
Try Futile, its an older game but I absolutely love it. I’ll try to link it but its a pretty old game.

If you want to play a risk-esque game, Small World is really good, and doesn’t rely on lame dice rolls.

Also, I just tried Galaxy Truckers for the first time this past Tuesday… that is a pretty awesome game; it may end up on my list of games to purchase.
