SpectatorI am looking for a wireless headset that functions as a PC and Xbox 360 headset. I have been looking at the Microsoft LifeChat ZX-6000 on the web, but I wanted to see if anyone knew of another better quality wireless headset meant for PC and Xbox 360. Thanks for the help in advance.

SpectatorAFAIK, the Lifechat series is not compatible with the XBOX360. It’s not a terrible loss though because they’re not that good. They’re not terrible but I’d never use one as a primary headset.
Newegg doesn’t list any wireless headsets that are compatible with both the XBOX360 and PC.

SpectatorDo the XBOX 360 headsets not use a USB interface?
Most of the stuff for Wii is just logitech PC devices through USB. I thought it would be similar with Microsoft seeing as how the XBOX 360 controller also works for Windows.

The wired headsets plug directly into the controllers… not sure about wireless ones.

The wireless headsets sync directly to the XBOX.

Memberthe new wireless logitech headsets are nice, but I don’t think you can get either of these to work for xbox and pc.

SpectatorIt’s extremely rare for a wireless device made for consoles to work with a PC. Even when libraries are released for them it takes a significant amount of emulation to make them interact with PCs in a meaningful way, enough that the delay created makes gaming with them useless.

Spectatormicrosoft has given exclusive rights for madcatz to make wireless xbox headsets for the 360 using their child company Triton.

SpectatorOnce the first model is released the other manufacturers will reverse engineer what’s needed to make their own. MS chose Madcatz because they are the absolute best at copying gaming hardware and having them out of the competition delays the copiers 4-6 months.
I wouldn’t really buy a non-official headset until Logitech or Plantronics release one. If you’re going to spend $50 you might as well get a brand that’s worth a *edited* lol
