I believe that just means Americans are not intelligent and has nothing to do with him being a good news anchor or trusted or anything. I also bet that either Time magazine or Rolling Stone or some other “reputable” polling service came up with that figure as well.
95% of what that man says is nonsensical gibberish pertaining to highly edited news clips mixed with 5% of him making funny faces while pausing letting the audience laugh at the nonsensical gibberish.
Yep, I can see how people would find that humorous and therefore trust him more than the local news anchor who actually does a good job relaying news that is relative to the area. Sounds bites and flashing pictures tends to entertain us more than a man in a tie telling us what we need to know.

I understand how he is comedic and people like him, It just frustrates me that Americans rely on him to bring news.
