The free game available on steam is great. I thought free = crappy but not in this case. Looking for some friends to play co-op with. Also, if you play tf2, then you get a new hat just for playing the game and completing 2 missions. Its free…what’s to loose.
There is a dedicated server for alien swarm: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Swarm_Dedicated_Server
However, there are no addon mods available to manage it and I don’t think you can even choose a server name either (for advertising purposes), So I dunno. Its only windows version as well.
I wonder if they will eventually charge for it. I have reached the highest prestige and there are still weapons that have not been unlocked. I don’t know what the future will be.
That’s how Counter Strike started. And Garry’s Mod. And at leasta half dozen other good games/mods.
There’s really no way to tell.
If you guys want to setup a test one for now and see what happens that would be great.
I think it will have a future as it does come with an SDK. It just worries me b/c there is currently only 1 campaign and if they don’t start getting out different maps/campaigns then it may die quickly.

I think this would be a great idea…
I think we need to start hosting newer games, maybe it could in some way point gamers to our other servers or… This Awesome Website!
