A friend of mine yesterday was complaining how everyone “forgot that he was a pedophile” and when I tried to explain to him that his musical talent and his effect on modern music made him an amazing man, he replied with “so I guess we should just forget that OJ is a killer and just focus on his football abilities.”
Ignorant people are ignorant…
Here’s the conversation.
Him: I wonder why everyone forgets about the fact MJ molested little boys…
Me: I’s not forgotten. He was an amazing musician and brought about so much change in the music scene… I mean, he turned out creepy as *edited*, but he USED to be amazing…
Him: so if you’re talented then anything else you have done is overshadowed by your talent? I guess we should just forget about what OJ did too
Me:No, that’s not what I mean, lol.OJ didn’t do anything amazing or revolutionary in his career.
But people who do amazing things in their lives are remembered for those things. Look at Christopher Columbus. He raped and pillaged villages when he arrived to the America’s just because he could, but he is still better known for “discovering” the America’s. It’s not forgotten that MJ did some “questionable” things (to say the least), but what he did for modern music and the video-revolution of music is what he has ALWAYS been known for and always will be. Like I said, he was creepy as *edited* and wasn’t psychologically stable but still, would you rather be BETTER remembered for the good things you did or the bad?
I just realized how text-wall’d that looks without spacing… Oh Well.
Let’s just say it shut him up, lol
