Spectatori dont understand why these extremists are upset now. South Park has actually shown mohammed in an earlier episode. No censor or anything. I think it was the “super best friends” episode. He had the power of flame lol

SpectatorDid anyone see the episode yesterday? The network censored every use of the name “Muhammad” and now they are refusing to let South Park Studios air the episode. Check this out.

SpectatorI really like the last statement. She’s a smart lady. If enough people oppose the extremists, then the group would die down eventually.
NuRayz- I think that you’re thinking about the Tron guy.
Ephraim- Yeah, I noticed that too, but then they completely bleeped out the conclusion, and showed the whole episode still. I thought that was witty.

No he’s dead on. They depicted Muhammad in ‘Super Best Friends’. Comedy Central didn’t censor it and there was no retaliation.
‘Super Best Friends’ has been taken off their episode streaming list as well, stating they no longer have clearance from Comedy Central to stream it.

SpectatorMuslims consider a physical representation of their prophet to be blasphemous. I havent seen the episode yet (ive got it DVR’d though) but i will probably lol

SpectatorI cannot blame them for getting mad. Just threats are a little too much, except they seem to be working in their favor.

SpectatorThe best part are the three 20 second bleeps at the end where Kile/Jesus/Santa talk about threats and intimidation.

I’m well aware of what they did to the ending speach. I saw the episode. It seems Comedy Central is run by cowards.

I wouldn’t go that far. This whole situation could make them lose viewers & lose money from the lose of ads.

The only viewers they would have lost by airing the episode uncensored would be fundamentalist Muslims who don’t watch the show anyway. Comedy Central has risked losing far more viewers by exposing their own cowardice. If I were a rival network, I would begin courting Parker and Stone immediately.

Spectatori don’t think its as much cowardism as it is precaution. The people at comedy central are probably more concerned about protecting their employees than offending a certain group. I mean hello its comedy central, every other show and/or stand-up comedian is offensive in some way (carlos mancia, dave chappelle, etc). And of all the crazy groups out their, muslim extremists are the most likely to actually follow through on their threats. Just look at Theo Van Gogh.

SpectatorThe network censored every use of the name Muhammad and removed an entire speech that never explicitly mentioned Muslims. Through such idiotic actions, they bent over and let a group of oversensitive *edited*s have their way with them. The executives of Comedy Central have abandoned free speech and look like a bunch of cowards.

agreed.
free speech > any religion and/or their beliefs.

SpectatorKeep in mind that South Park is the most watched show on Comedy Central. Having all those viewers move to a network like MTV would be a huge loss, especially if the other network gave them true freedom to do as they wished.

Well, I wasn’t exactly saying that. What I was trying to say was that free speech is of higher importance than obeying veiled death threats. If the muslim groups had just organized a boycot and protested outside the building, that would have been fine. As a matter of fact, it would have been an example of free speech. Any group has the right to be offended and voice its disapproval, but the line is crossed when violence is threatened. By giving into these threats, Comedy Central has *edited*ed of the two people responsible for getting their network into the public’s eye, offended their millions of fans, and assured that extremist muslim groups will continue to harass them. After all, when you give in to an extremist group once, they will figure you hve no courage and come back with greater demands.

SpectatorRemember the Toon Wars episodes? They were eluding to this very scenario.
In fact, the more I look back the more they’ve been building up to this, warning about it, and calling how they thought it would go. For the past few years, actually.

Spectatorso conspiracy theories, here we go:
along with this retarded censorship of south parks unalianable right to free speech, arizona passed their immigration bill and it was signed into law yesterday. Is this a prelude to the near future? No speech, marginalizing the community, socialism, czarism, holy*edited*obamaistheantichristism?
seriously though, i don’t mind that they passed that immigration law (well i kind of do, i’m hispanic), I just hope they start by going to all those congressmens’ houses, and check their day porters, pool boys, nannies.

SpectatorWe live in a nation of hypocrites. I think that is a problem that needs to be handled on the federal level of government, all immigrants need to be given the chance to gain citizenship, learn to speak English, and pay taxes like everyone else in the US. If they just want to squat, not learn English, and not pay taxes then they can GTFO my country cause I am not paying my hard earned dollars to pay for their babies.

Under Obamacare you pay for illegal immigrant healthcare. They made a big deal about removing the language that gave illegals healthcare but then left a giant hole in it that allows “undocumented workers” to use the system. All republican attempts to remove that loophole were blocked by democrats on a party line vote and the media just ignored it.
Btw, this just in, analysis done by the HHS department now finds that Obamacare will be significantly more expensive than previously stated and will never lower healthcare overall costs. It’s also projected to force 15% of hospitals into debt due to reduced payouts. The govt says it’s “a bargain price for guaranteeing coverage to 95 percent of Americans”. Interesting that the studies coming out now have exactly opposite findings as the ones done earlier…
Obama: We know we lied to you, and we’re sorry you found out, but we still think it’s a good deal.
