dude we’ve been wanting to trade T-mactruckfullof*edited* since mid-season. Right before the trading deadline, he came out publicly about his injury, his surgery, and even said he wasn’t being treated nicely by the team. At the same time there were rumors circulating that the rockets might trade t-mac for some quality players; one being Vince Carter. It was really a hoe move on t-macs part, but then again its understandable why T-mac would do it, cuz he’s a lil baby.

Tmac is UNTRADABLE. Period. He is an “old” injury prone superstar who is set to make another 21 million next year. No one would want to take that on to their books just for cap space for the 2010 summer. Anyways. Tmac WILL have a good year next year since he will be a free agent the following, and he must make himself look good for other teams. But at the same time, it is common knowledge that Daryl Morrey(sp?) and Les Alexander have always been huge Tmac fans, and have never given up on him. And honestly, the Rockets are a MUCH better team when Tmac is healthy and playing well. This year all we have seen is a Tmac that is hurt. He is one of the few players that gets noticeably better stats in the post season.

And if you try to pull the ol’ “well he never got his team out of the first round” business, then I dare you to tell me WHEN he has had a “good” team around him in the post season(aside from the second(I think) year he was first with Yao)…Kobe could not take his team out of the first round without Shaq/Pau, Paul Pierce couldn’t do it without KG/Ray, Dwade can’t do it without another superstar…The only freak who has done it is LeBron, and I almost don’t count him because he’s in the L’East.

All that nonsense being said; if Tmac can get ANYWHERE near what he is capable of this coming year, I would gladly keep him, especially with Yao showing that he can play the better part of a full season. My advice to management would be to play both Yao and Mac for the first third of the year, get a strong start. Then don’t play either of them on back to backs for a third of the year, then depending on how they are doing, play them more at the end, but even then I would sit Yao on back to backs again so he doesn’t continue to hurt his feet/knees…

tl;dr

Tmac is making 21 mil next year, he’s old and injury prone = untradeable.

When he is healthy he is a great player, makes teams better.

Houston management have been known to LOVE Tmac.

No other superstar has gotten out of the first round without help(don’t look at LeBron)…

I say keep Mac/Yao, play both the first 1/3 of the year then sit one of the two on back to backs for the better part of the rest of the season…
