New Admin Recruitment

I’m going to talk to SFR he seems like a good candidate for an admin.

Reformatted. Once I get all configs and stuff working you’ll see me around more.

I moved away for school. My ping is like 120 in the server now. I won’t be playing too much

so i had a decent connection yesterday and still managed to ping over 1000 so idk what I’m going to do

Im on almost every night.

I’ve been talking to Frady the past few nights, and he has hinted that he is interested in being an admin. He is a long standing admin at Appstate and now that he is playing again he has been frequenting the server. He has applied before but was rejected, and I told him to come apply again so we will see.

He tends to be very adamant about admin abuse and has posted several times here about instances of it, so I expect he would make a good admin, but the reports also mean that he may not be a favorite among other admins.

Just bumping this thread because we need to see some new admin blood in the 1.6 section to get players on more often.

I completely agree with this. O’Frady is a very good person and could be a very good admin and if anyone knows me I am very critical of administration. I have only seen good things from Frady though and he is definitely a nice and kind person who knows how CS should be played and would make a great admin. I give ups to him 10 fold and fully support that recommendation.

The problem when I talk to many admin prospects is the strict requirements. Is there anyway to lower them temporarily while we recruit some new people for admins?

Srsly. I don’t see how the requirements for admin are strict. The requirement for posts/idling IRC is to ensure that the person is active in the community outside of the servers. Also, if they’re so strict, why did we have fifty billion 1.6 admins at some point?

I dunno 100 posts on the forum seems kinda stupid. You don’t have to be post *edited* to be a good admin or prove activity. LOL I have been here for awhile and I only post when I think it is meaningful.

Also I would like to make note that the admin you have now don’t idle your IRC. I have been in there multiple times and there is like 3-5 people at most every time I have been in it. LOL I should know I am active on IRC 24-7 in 13 different channels.

I think that if the person does his job in the server and uses ethical conduct I think that is all that matters or what matters most.

Frady is probably the first person ever to take my joking charismatically/friendly and not only that, but was been the nicest guy I could have ever added to steam friends so big ups to the Irish chump.

Irrelevant. At that point, people were getting admin left and right.

Major answered the question, though. I’d forgotten we had LOWER STANDARDS.

Chronologically, we gained fifty billion admins when the requirements were just 50 post/small hours, then heightened the requirements for admins and stopped gaining admins for a while.

 

 

I don’t know if you guys have realized or not, but the server is dead. We have 50 billion admins but only 5% play a significant amount. We need new active admins to be able to encourage a new younger population. These high standards that we expect the admins are great when the server has a thriving population but now when we are lucky to get 12 players in the server on dust2 need lower stipulations for admin.
