Its time again to change up the mapcycle. Here is the proposed mapcycle which I would like to see on the server. Ive been taking ideas from the community as well as top rated servers on gametracker. Looking at the top 10 servers in the world, most of them play d2 constantly, but a few have other maps that they play regularly that arent the norm, which i have included a couple.

cs_office
de_inferno
scoutzknivez
de_train
de_forge*
de_nuke
awp_dust
*trail period maps, if they fair well, we will keep them in the rotation permanently, if not, they will be changed out. de_nuke_rarea is a modified version of de_nuke that seems more fun and opens the map up more. de_forge comes from the CEVO league and was set up to replace cbble, still a fun map that fills the servers.
As you can tell, cs_italy and de_aztec have been removed. If the 2 trial maps dont work out, I can see replacing them with cbble and aztec, but we will decide that when it comes.

– i don’t think the rotation should have both de_nuke & de_nuke_rarea (never heard of this map). if you’re gonna put a nuke map on the rotation, one nuke map is enough.
– will scoutzknivez crash the server every day? that issue needs to be fixed.
– de_train is a bad idea imo especially since the server population is so low these days. de_train is better suited for a packed server. the map is certainly no fun when it’s only 6v6 these days…
– instead of train, how about de_cpl_tdm? de_chateau? de_piranesi?
– also, i think awp_dust should be replaced. that map is getting a little old now. we should replace awp_dust with a new custom map.
Or give the admins the option to throw up a vote for alltalk?
Also, dust2 needs to get back to the bottom of the rotation, so when the server crashes, we don’t play it twice (server defaults to d2 after a crash and then since it’s the first map in the rotation, it’s the next map again).
that’s a great idea toranky! i was thinking the same thing! we should make snow the first map since a lot of people seem to enjoy it =D
i would say just have the new nuke on there…give it a month…if nothin good comes of it replace it. forge is a better all around map than cbble but idk if ppl will want to DL it…kinda takes a bit. I agree with getting alltalk back…its great when its only like ten peeps in the server. idk about awp_dust and snow back to back….overall good rotation….is oilrig a mapvote option????? on a side note i think we should add cs_estate…its a very fun map that dew ppl play imho

Office killed the server all summer, I think its time for that to go. No idea what nukerarea or whatever it is called is. I’d rather just play good ole cbble than forge. I know forge was remade to make cbble less CT sided, but forge is so *edited*. Put fire on so I can cheat kids in mid with the greasiest spam ever.
I like the new nuke map looks good… I dont think awp map should remain on but i do think it should be replaced with strike or fire. I also think train is a great map but if the servers short it wont be fun and should be left in the rtv option and replaced with chateau.

Can we all agree that resources should be shifted into making a separate 24/7 dust2 server? (if they are available)

I would resign if 1.6 was turned into a 24/7 d2 server.
I said replace train with chateau because it makes sense.
chateau should be placed on that rotation somewhere maybe as a trial map i guess but its almost always been full when chateau was on.

I wont make our pub a 24/7 D2 server. With the new server coming up soon, we will have a separate server that will probably be 24/7 D2

I hate to say this, but a lot of the regulars come just to play snow. I personally hate the map, but I know of several regulars that would probably stop playing if that map left. I say give it a 10-15 minutes block, so us normal people who hate it don’t leave when it comes up.
I would say the same about awp_dust, but the regulars who play on that map leave RIGHT after it’s over, so it’s technically not helping keep the server full. I mean you can argue that it’s popular and brings people in and play but if they only play 20 minutes and then don’t stay on the server, it’s almost being a burden. It would be better to remove it to keep the people who play the rest of the time on rather than cater to those few die hards. Trash it.
Switch train and scoutz and i think that would be a winrar rotation.
Needs more dust2 – Oh and before toranky comes crying – put de_dust2 at the end of the rotation so that when the server restarts we won’t be stuck playing dust2 2 times in a row. I personally love it, but a lot of people then RTV/illegal vote map at that point.
