i believe that to avoid all of the skeptisism from anyone they add the last part “in a galaxy far far away” and with this there isn’t much that we can talk about because we don’t know what is going on in another galaxy, there could be giant three headed ninja monkey frogs and we wouldn’t have the slightest clue, so that is why they can say “a long long time ago” and there isn’t much to argue about it, the bottom line is we just don’t know for sure
