ECF Cleveland LeBrons v Celtics-If KG is healthy, Celtics in 7, if not, Cleveland in 6.
FINALS- Lakers v Celtics-Depends on who performs better, Bynum or KG, whoever has better numbers carries their team to victory in 6.
Lakers v Cleveland- LeBron will once again show that he cannot win a finals by himself, and Mo Williams will not be enough help. Lakers in 6. Kobe is Finals MVP

If LA faces Portland in the playoffs, it’s gonna be a fun series. I think LA lost their last 8 out of 9 games in Portland during the past couple of yrs.
Sleeper teams: Portland in the west, Atlanta in the east
But who knows…maybe the Spurs will win it. Even though Ginobili is out for the rest of the season, 2009 is an odd numbered year
April 14, 2009 at 2:09 pm #79444YahooEarth
SpectatorLA will have zero problems winning the west. Although they have lost 8 out of their last 9 in the Rose Garden, the playoffs are totally different, and a young team will eventually come down to earth. And LA will have homecourt advantage, so even if it goes 7, it will be another Celtics/Atlanta series…In other words, Portland is still too young.
And I do agree with Atlanta being the sleeper team in the east, I love watching them…
And true that on the spurs in the odd…never count them out…

Are you serious??????? Portland is going to get knocked out early.
First of all. Did you not see Houston DESTROY the Hornets yesterday? Secondly, Hornets are on the same level as Dallas, who sucks this year btw, which means Houston can secure the number 3 playoff spot (as long as we beat Dallas in the last game of the season *fingers crossed* and then we play either Hornets or Dallas in the first round. The rockets can and will beat either of those teams, very easily.
And portland???? LOL never…
If the Rockets ever get a chance to play them in the playoffs, they will own them so hard it isn’t even funny. Tell me how Portland is going to stop Yao Ming??? The man is a beast!!!
Rockets won 102-88 in their most recent victory against portland. The last time portland beat the rockets was in a fluke, way back in early November. There is no way Ron Artest and Yao will let those nubs win ever. The rockets definitely handled those chumps.
The only team that stands in the way of the rockets, is San Antonio, Jazz, and the Lakers. Luckily the Jazz will get knocked out by the lakers, and I am fairly confident that we can beat San Antonio (seeing how we will have home court advantage over them AND we have beaten them in the past). LA is the only team that I just can’t see us beating. Kobe is too good.

SpectatorOh and lets not forget the bracket:
http://breathingfire.com/nba/playoffs/2009/bracket2009.php
Round 1 WEST predictions:
LA beats Utah
Spurs beat Portland
Rockets beat Hornets
Denver beats Dallas
Round 2W:
LA beats Spurs
Rockets beat Denver
WCF:
LA (sadly) beats Rockets. (although I am praying everyday, that Kobe gets hurt beforehand, and the Rockets win it all

SpectatorHouston won 2 games against Portland this season and Portland won one. One of the games Houston won was only 98-94 so Houston didn’t own Portland this season If you look at both of their records this season, they’re almost identical (home record, road record, overall record). Portland is also very big in the frontcourt so they can throw Pryzbilla and Oden at Yao. If the 2 teams faced up head to head in the playoffs, who would guard Aldridge? Scola can’t guard Aldridge!

Scola can’t guard Aldridge!Yes we have been known to lose round 1, but that is because we almost always play the Jazz…and for some reason we just don’t match up well against them. This year is different, because the jazz will lose to LA.
Rockets that can guard Aldridge:
Chuck Hayes?
Carl Landry?
Shane Battier???
3 deep is enough to hold that fool. Plus looking at the bracket, if portland goes on to round 2 they will have to play the Lakers, which I doubt they can win. If the Rockets can make it out of round 1, I see a close match in the WCF vs. the lakers. But we have to get some lucky *edited* in order to come out on top of that series =/

Portland is also very big in the frontcourt so they can throw Pryzbilla and Oden at Yao. If the 2 teams faced up head to head in the playoffs, who would guard Aldridge? Scola can’t guard Aldridge!Pryz and Oden are retards and are EXTREMELY foul happy, thus resulting in them not being able to body up yao, resulting in yao running train on those nubs. Aldridge will be guarded by a combination of Artest, Scola, Landry, Chuck Hayes. But we really don’t care about containing Aldridge, he can go off all he wants, and he probably will. The key is keeping Brandon Roy in check while he attempts to take over the game when no one else is getting going.
And let’s look at the Rockets head to head against Portland…
Game 1 of the year: November 6 at Portland, Loss 99 to 101 on a freak shot by Roy. If you put the Blazers in that situation 1000 more times, Brandon Roy will make that shot 1 more time. It was an impossible shot to end a great game full of ridiculous highlights.
Game 2 of the year: February 24 in Houston, Win 98 to 94. Ron Artest went 5-13, A Brooks went 8-20, and Yao went 6-15. I will take a win with those terrible numbers ANY day. If anything, that was a bad game by the Blazers to lose because the Rockets were obviously sucking that night…
Game 3 of the year: April 5 in Houston, Win 102 to 88. Nothing to say here.
Now tell me WHERE you see the Blazers have any edge here against the Rockets?? Maybe you should check some stats before you try to throw out numbers at us(me in particular)…
AGAIN, the Blazers are TOO young. And you can quote me on this, “The Blazers WILL win at least two ships in the next 7 years.” They are super talented and just a trade or two and some more development away from reaching the next level.
In the next two years Brandon Roy will be in the MVP considerations and they will only be getting better…

SpectatorYahooEarth calm down dude, I wasn’t talking to you. NuRayz said the Rockets manhandled the Blazers this season and I was merely telling him (not you) that it wasn’t that lopsided. I don’t know why you got so upset.

He’s just into the debate. And like the rest of Houston, including myself, I’m sure Yahoo is just really excited about the playoffs, and want the rockets to do well. I know I will be a wreck every single playoff game…We have invested to much emotion this year to get knocked out the first round. CLUTCH CITY LETS GO!!!!
My real prediction is that the rockets are going to erupt and obliterate teh competition. I still believe Yao is going to go Super Sayian any time now and score like 1000.
