Ex
Spectatori am requesting that the server rules be added to each of our servers motd as it helps the admin to handle stuff instead of saying its a server rule and having people go to the website to find out . The main ones i see that need to be on the motd are no racism will be tolerated and no bunny hopping these are to of the biggest problems i see with most of the people . But all the rules need to be placed on the servers motd .
thanks

Spectatoradam37 he means putting the rules actually on the page, not a link to them. I dont know if the link works very well ingame.

Spectatorwell they were taking out b/c people wont read a wall of text. everyone opted for a preatty looking motd so at least some infomation might be looked at. I like the link idea.
srly, its common since not to use racual slurs this day and age, grievers will be grievers weather its in the motd or not.

ok I have another idea; we make a page with the same header as the normal one but just have the rules then a link from the main MOTD to the rules; it should load just fine and fit in the window without an issue. If that sounds good to you all I will set that up.

Seriously, no one reads the motd and they’re going to say it wasn’t in the motd even if it was.

SpectatorWell ill be honest i just get tired of warning for the same thing over and over i need to just make bind for a few things so i don’t have to type it every time call me lazy .
‘For the most part when i enter a server i tend to read or at least look at a motd for the server . Just so i don’t break a rule they may haveMarch 19, 2009 at 12:55 am #74876MasterP
SpectatorHaving been an admin to a dozen TAG servers over the years, each with their own set of rules, I can tell you less than 5% of CSS players actually look at the motd.
Just bind the warnings or create a script that spams the major ones.

SpectatorI’ve brought this up a few times in the past, about having the rules in the motd (also, typing /motd in 1.6 doesn’t work anymore).
Personally, I skim the motd when I join servers. I know a lot of people don’t, but like I said in previous comments on this topic, if they try to argue that they don’t know the rules, well, it was available for viewing so they can’t claim ignorance if they break a rule. Basically we could just throw in their face a, “Well, the rules were there. You should’ve read them.”
It’s like the fine print of a contract. If you overlook them and break a rule, we’re not at fault.
Also, if you upload Adam’s motd, please fix the map list. It says scounz instead of scoutz.
