First of all, I go to Texas A&M University, and I was born and raised in a poor section of South West Houston Texas. So I have every right to claim how racist this state is. I am not claiming EVERYONE is racist, but I will tell you FROM MY 22 YEARS OF LIVING HERE, that there are indeed lots of ignorant bigots. So please don’t assume I was just talking out of my butt, because I am not.
And Secondly, I was not totally serious. I was making a point, if you read the rest of my post, you would see that I said it’s simply ridiculous to claim a United States President as anything but a Patriot. The reaction you got when I said what I did about Bush is exactly the same reaction anyone would want to get if they were serious about referring to a President as a Fascist, because it is simply rediculous. I may hate Bush with all my guts, but he still is our President, and although I may disagree with his decision making, I know his intentions are for our country.
And for the questions you asked. Why should the rich have to pay more? Simple. Because the price of living for them impacts them much less than the price of living for a poor person. That is the main reason, although they are getting taxed at a higher rate, they will still have enough money to do whatever the hell it is they want and then some.
