Steam has been really *edited*ing me off lately. I am always logged in and can play the 3 games I have downloaded but I can’t access a buy page or get anything but free downloads, is there any way I can uninstall steam so that I can reinstall it without losing all my friends, my maps, and my games?
if you uninstall steam you loose all your files,, but it lets you dl them back.
Pull your maps folder out on your desktop and just put the folder back in the steam folder after the reinstall.
just reinstall your games
your friends are tied to your login, so when ever you are logged in, no matter which pc you are on,, your friends will still be in the list
ok…how do i get the account back if it doesnt let me log in? If I uninstall and I lose all my *edited* what can I do?
so i uninstalled then relogged in and i dragged all the game folders onto the desktop but I dont know where they go back
…so i uninstalled everything and restarted my comp and reinstalled and will be spending the evening playing diablo2 until all my *edited* is reinstalled

my sorc almost died when i was doing mf runs cause of the lag… like 100 hp outta 900
Well *edited* isnt working for me at all so I sent a nasty letter and well hopefully they will fix my *edited*…

yeah, steam hasn’t really been all that friendly… i woulda said earlier go into Program Files\Steam\ and copy a whole bunch o junk and then redoing steam… but aside from that now that you done did that… good luck and have fun
o btw steam hasnt replied back to me I’m just gunna deal with it on the other hand my friend just bought me a steam product idk if you heard of Counter Strike: Source, I dont know what it is but he said its really cool. It also came with Half-Life 2 mods and uhm Day of Defeat: Source. I just dont know what to do.
So just to make matters worse css wont work for me at all isnt this awesome I have uninstalled and reinstalled it and it wont work it gives me an error message.

basically no matter what suggestions anyone gives it *edited*s out my comp…I even tried to upgrade my ATI card and I got BSOD so *edited* it Ill wait a little bit I guess.
If I could read it I would tell you. Theres nothing that shows up a blank box with another box in it, I’m guessing its a hl2 launch error and a program terminate error
well lets see it was said you are using a friends account if this is true and your email name isnt set as the contact email they wont send you one because its not the right email . Also theres a trojan going around that may be causeing the trouble i personaly have had no problems with steam but gl with yours
It was originally a friends account but its mine and has been since before I had admin here…I want to say he officially gave me the account last year around this time, the account is set up top my e-mail and I have finally received an e-mail back. It basically says that I have to upgrade IE6 to IE7 and it should fix itself.

So much in Windows is integrated with IE it’s stupid not to keep it updated. Just because you don’t use it doesn’t mean that you aren’t vulnerable to security flaws with it.
