WHOSE READY FOR SOME PIE?
i love me some apple pie, i used to favor the pumpkin but somehow i switched over to apple, i guess that’s just the way it goes. So i say this thread is about talking about how awesome your thanksgiving is and what kinds of food you have.
My thanksgiving, man, wednesday is always really busy, so is thursday morning, but that’s normal. But despite all the work i love thanksgiving, all our neighbors come over for drinks and appetizers for a while and it’s always nice to see them and talk about whats going on while munching on snacks. Then most leave for their own thanksgivings, but our (i don’t know how to best describe it) closest? (seems mean, but i dunno, i like all neighbors equally, but whatever) neighbor and their family joins us as tradition, it started a long time ago, since i was realllllll little, but it’s always been fun. Anyways it’s always fun and nice to see the neighbors and have a chance to relax
Foodstuffs
Turkey, naturally
Stuffing
Pirogies, i would suggest google but some of you might know what i’m talking about, good stuff use sour cream for extra points
some cranberry, orange, apple jello thing, i never really cared for
salad, one of our neighbors brought over the most amazing salad ever, i don’t remember what was in it but it was delicious
2 apple pies
2 pumpkin pies
snacks include, crab dip, shrimp with sauce, cheese and crackers, grapes…usually something that my brother makes, he likes to try new things, i don’t remember last years but it was good as usual.
i’m probably forgetting a bunch of stuff, naturally there is gravey…and alcohol for all
oh yeah we cook the turkey upside down after we soak it in a brine for the night. it makes the turkey look burnt, common thought is the sugers from the brine carmalize on the turkey, but keeps the juices inside, the turkey is usually de-*edited*ing-licous.

SpectatorMy day will start about 5am. I will be smoking turkeys (the bird) until about 1pm.
Everyone loves my pecan pie, so I make those the night before.

SpectatorSweet potatoes are gross in all forms. Though, I may tolerate a sweet potato pie only if it tastes like a pumpkin pie.

SpectatorTRUTH, SIR! IT IS TRUTH!
I abhor their little orange forms. Only carrots should be orange in the vegetable family. And pumpkins.
Do not forget pumpkins, which make superior pies.
