I’v been reviewing some of these courses and i must say they are quite helpful. Some of these are just as good as some online classes i’v had. However these don’t get you any type of credit. Its been a great asset for review prior to the job search/interview to buff up on some skills. figured i’d post.

Want MIT classes? Try WCU’s EE program. Our curriculum and lectures are based off MIT, Perdue, and UNCC.

then i would say you are getting jipped. MIT looks elevendy times better than WCU on any diploma. if its the same all classes would transfer, i’d look into going there my last semester if i was in your situation. The Dr. Dunlap himself was head of WCU’s ET program (think EE also) and he started their ET program at Perdue. I was a fraction of a second from going their my last semester.

Given time WCU’s EE program will be considered good as well. The rising senior class has interns at places like Duke Energy and Tyco. I’ll admit that those from UNCC and NCSU are getting better intern positions but when I say I’m from WCU most supervisors at Duke didn’t even know we had an EE program. Once WCU gets grads out in the workforce we’ll start catching employers’ eyes, because an engineering degree is pretty much the same where ever you go. You’re still not going to know much of what you’re hired to do.

Btw, yes I did consider transfering but felt it wasn’t worth it considering I turned down both UNCC and NC State to go to Western. I’ve attended several counterpart classes at UNCC and found their lectures to be far less personal and much less informative. The fewer people there are in class, the better the education as professors can tailor their lectures to the class better.

Well that makes at least two of us. WCU’s professors and the small class size in the kimmle school is what made me choose Western. (highly recommend it as non-biased as i can be, for anyone considering or thinking about attending WCU) I also had an intern last summer with DE. i supplied you nukes with your H20 =)

…at least you dont have to explane what your degree is to the employers <_>

And we do appreciate that. It does help prevent bad PR.

Small classes and the near-brand new labs is what got it for me. State’s undergrad labs were very old and UNCC had too many foreign professors that you couldn’t understand. WCU has its fair share of foreigners but they are ALL easy to understand, well the engineering ones are. The chinese math professors are just ridiculous.

Dr. Zhang fits under the favorable category.

I was referring to Dr. Wang in the math dept. who teaches surprisingly well but it takes a few weeks to understand him.
