Well we don’t really know. When that new TF2 server is full it uses a lot of CPU usage(up to almost 50%) but Source even full only uses like 10% and 1.6 about 8%, meaning we have around 30% to play with that could either go here or to the other TF2 server.
Also we are looking at upgrading tron with 2 dual core chips which would solve the problem completely. And RAM usage is not even an issue, tron has 16GB ram and we don’t ever use more than 2GB of that lol.
hypothetically, if we upgrade,, we have ~30% free now (other than mapchanges) what will this % bump up to?
if we can add a few servers with only a $400 upgrade,, we should do it ASAP. maybe Keath will reinburs us, maybe not… But as we all know how long it takes to get things done through the school. Just look at how he keeped delayed kuros for nearly a year about the box. and he stayed on him nearly every week. I say by the time school starts back up, by the time we talk to him, buy the time he talks to the ITS ppl, by the time the funds clear with the school… I sespect its going to be 2ed semester if not summer 09′ tilll anyhting gets done. This upgrade is ~15% of our funds. I think its worth upgrading over the summer when we have free time to build and test servers. heck, its worth it just not to deal with the schools BS paperwork.
