SpectatorOn Monday, June 16, 2008, the WCU Gaming Club server will be taken down for maintenance. During this time, Tron will be formatted and have the O/S reinstalled.
We are then going to reinstall all of the games and bring them back up one at a time to verify stability and no issues.
Hopefully this will not cause a significant downtime, and we should *hopefully* have everything back up and running by the end of the day.
The services being impacted are the CS 1.6 Server, CSS Server, TF2 Server, and CoD4 Server. The website will not be impacted by this.
The date above is confirmed.

SpectatorThis date has been confirmed with Steven Wilson of networking so barring any unforeseen circumstances it should happen Monday morning. I will try to do it as early in the day as possible to minimize downtime in the prime hours of the day.

SpectatorSo you waited until I wasn’t there to do it. Screw you all.

SpectatorNot exactly. We waited until someone had opportunity and time to do it. Since I do nothing else at work, now is as good a time as any.

Where I’m at now = no fun + low pay + 30 minute drive each way

I can mail you the one I used if you want. It covers everything you need to pass the Net+ exam. I also have A+ and CCNA books you’re welcome to borrow but they aren’t for the most recent tests.

Doing physics research wasn’t a hard as i thought it would be as they have about 30 books on optics alone.
I also thought Net+ was a much more boring read than A+.

SpectatorWe may have a slight issue. Scott S from networking (the big boss) told me today that starting Monday I am going to be dealing with asset tags with Admin & Finance. Now I’m not sure when exactly that will start or if it will take a long time or whatever but it may impact my ability to do the Tron stuff.

SpectatorMy only concern is completion, if you can’t commit to starting the job and completing it in a timely manner then we will have to postpone it until you feel more sure of the time you are able to commit to the job. And we something like this it wouldn’t be wise to start it if we weren’t sure of proper and timely completion.

Hell I had to go down to Brown the other day to plug in ports on the the switch cause they don’t get keys to the switch room.

I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t let us do it if we wanted to.
Btw, are you rejoining Resnet or staying with Networking?

Btw, are you rejoining Resnet or staying with Networking?Honestly? It likely depends on whether or not Chuck is staying at Networking. If he does, I will jump ship back to ResNet. If not, I see little reason to leave unless ResNet will pay me more

SpectatorThis has been postponed until Wednesday, possibly Thursday.

So you’re staying there then. Resnet’s pay is less than fulfilling.
