So this brings up another issue about quick switching while sniping. Some people do it, some people don’t. Technically it is an “exploit”. Here are a few pros/cons to quick switching and some statistics:
Pros:
1) Ignores the reload animation, enabling the gun to be fired upon ready once you switch back. This can be done fastest with the knife, as somehow the pistol and grenades create a small delay, thus reducing the point/effect of this.
2) Allows the sniper to zoom out, faster, and as a result redirect his aim towards another target or area. Yes we hate double zooming just to get out of the crosshair view.
3) Actually enables a faster diffuse. Yes it does indeed. Normal diffuse takes i believe last time i counted 15 seconds. Quick switching weapons glitches it so that it diffuses slightly faster. (I can get it down to 11, using mwheel). (This happens when you don’t have a kit).
4) Quick switching in a middle of a firefight, also resets you’re current recoil settings which enables you to become accurate again as if you didnt burst/spray the last whatever seconds.
Cons:
1) Ignores reload time, so that the sniper may shoot faster than the time alloted.
2) Can diffuse bombs faster than normal without a kit, sometimes making bombs that SHOULD blow up, NOT.
Yea some people quickswitch a lot, it’s in our blood and inbedded already so it’s hard to not notice it. But it does give a player an advantage over a player who’s not doing this. QS gives a player an advantage just like bunnyhop, but should it be allowed even though it’s no less an exploit than bunnyhopping?
