    The Game Servers will be DOWN on April 6th starting at 7:00 AM until it’s done defragging.

     

    This will affect the following games:

    Counter-Strike 1.6

    Counter-Strike: Source

    Team-Fortress 2

    Call of Duty 4

     

    If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)

     

    Note: This is not an april fools joke.

    There is no real way to estimate how long something like this will take but considering the drives have probably never been fully defragmented and it’s been about 8 months since the last partial defrag it’ll probably take 2-4 hours at the very least. Depending on how bad they are fragmented, and only Bitey can answer that, it could easily take twice that.

    I’m even more clueless then MasterP, but I think 2-4 sounds about right, I assure you though as soon as the defrag is done, the servers will be back up and running. Also we will try to keep you updated of any issues we have while doing this.

    it depends on how many fragmented packets are on the box. Defrag moves files around the hard drive and does some really cool things when it finds fragmented packets. There is not good accurate time guess.

     

    My guess is 3.43 hours

    I started the defrag at 7 AM it is now 12 PM and the defrag is at 19%, just thought I would give you all an update.

    it is now 5:14 PM the defrag is at 42%, this is going to be a long process, my biggest hope is that it will not be in vain, thank you all for being patient.

    my money is on it’ll be done at about 11. it seems the higher it goes the faster it is. i think its gonna end a few minutes before i can play, and then a few minutes to reboot. and then i can’t play. =(
