Running Source SDK (specifically Hammer) on Vista

Hey you guys. how’s it goin? well, i just aquired a new computer and happens to have Vista 32-bit on it. I tried to run Hammer on it and it runs like dog sh**. I even tried running it in the compatability mode for XP, but it still won’t run right. In the rendered view, there’s nothing but lines, and when i try to navigate in any of the windows, it’s extremely laggy. like a new frame every five seconds. any guesses as to why this would be? Is there anything i can do besides map on my XP computer?
