Updated from Brian’s (excellent) rules by me just to make sure I agree completely :D

    [MOTD]

This server is run by the Western Carolina University Gaming Club.

You are responsible for reading this and abiding by the rules.

For more information, see the forums at http://www.wcugaming.org/forums

    Server rules/MOTD:

    1. Cheating(Aimbotting, Ghosting, Walling, Norecoil/Nospread, ESP) is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban.

    2. No racism, sexism, religious defamation, trolling, vulgarities, offensive names will be tolerated.

    3. No spamming voicecom, say, or teamsay. You will be muted and possibly other things.

    4. Map exploits are not allowed (sky-walking, boosting through floors, leaving the playarea of the map, planting in the water on de_Inferno).

    5. Do not argue your punishment with administrators. Stay civil and rational or you will be ignored.

    6. No pornographic or shock-imagery sprays are allowed.

    7. Pursue the objectives or risk being slayed/beaconed/other torturous concoction.

    8. Bunny hopping is not allowed, with the exception of scoutzknivez, scoutzknivez3, and deagle_5. (I will keep the exceptions current)

    9. Do not rejoin for money.

    10. Team and clan stacking will not be tolerated.

    11. Do not evade the team balancer.

    12. Fix your rates if an admin asks. There’s a how-to forum at wcugaming.org if you are not sure what to do.

    13. These rules are not ultimate, if we see something offensive, inappropriate, sketchy, or otherwise unorthodox we may require the remedy of them.

    [General Rules]

    Punisment:

-Any of the above offenses found in the MOTD may result in a slap, slay, kick, mute, ban hammer, or other more entertaining forms of punishment at the discretion of the admins in line with the suggestions posted here.

-If the violation is a repeated offense or severe enough a player may be banned from play on WCU servers.

-If a player is issued a permanent ban (permaban) he or she may dispute the ban on the official WCU forums.

-If you are banned please wait 24 hours before posting on our forums. This is to ensure that non-permabanned players do not contest non-disputable bans.

-Any player may be banned for up to 7 days without the possibility of ban repeal.

    Help/Admin Abuse:

-If no administrator is present at the time you are playing and you require assistance, please join the WCU IRC channel and request help. The instructions can be found on the WCU forums.

-If you feel you are the victim of administrator abuse please post a thread concerning this on the WCU forums.

    Demoing:

-You may record a demo if you suspect a player of hacking or repeatedly exploiting/bunny hops/maps/porn spray/spamming/trolling after being warned and punished a first time. If your demo conclusively shows a player hacking we will ban him. I do consider the MOTD to be a first warning.

    [Admin Rules]

/these will be updated soon when the new admin mod is implemented.

To help us deal with the sometimes overabundant use of admin commands on the Source server, please be sure to follow these simple guidelines:

    1: Use commands with modesty.

2: Do not initiate mapvotes when the server is healthy or at notable risk of depopulation from a bad mapvote. Only initiate votes if the server empties, and make sure to let the map complete normally (Initiate a vote for -At end of map-). Late night hours when you the server is empty you can change it on the next round, preferably to a popular map like de_dust2, cs_office.

3: Do not excessively use the @ (Ma_Say) command during peak hours. This function is available strictly to assist you in dealing with server-wide issues when attention and global-reaching chat are important.

4: Use restraint in using the @@ (Whisper) command to players. This should, if possible, be used instead of the @ or @@@ commands as it deals directly, and only, to the player you need to speak with.

5: Do NOT use the @@@ (CSay) command except in extreme situations.

6: If a player is committing a minor offense escalate your punishments (IE: Do not start with a ban. Start with a large slap and work your way up through slays and kicks and other tortures as you see fit.)

7: You may give any player up to a 24-hour ban with no demo proof required. However, please use the ban commands ONLY as a last resort or in pressing situations.

8: If you issue a permanent ban please be prepared with demos or good witnesses showing reasonable proof of the player’s offenses. Also for the sake of clarity and common sense, ask another admin during the review process to view the demo to get a second. Sometimes people think they saw what they wanted to see.

9: Do not argue with other admins in game chat, over voice, in admin chat or on the forums. If you have a personal argument or dispute with another admin it will only be settled over IRC. This does not include common server discusion the likes of which you see on the forums all the time.

10: Do not abuse your admin powers to give yourself an unfair and unwanted advantage over other guests in the server. However, I know sometimes we use them while generally the entire server is goofing off, that is okay by me.

11: If you have any further questions or require clarification, please refer to Falcon, Brian, Liam, Bitey, Mr. Freeman, Fascist Flakes, or Kuros for more information.

12: Yes I know admins make mistakes, as I have many myself. If you think you goofed let someone on previous list know so we can correct it fairly.
