Spectator$500-600 won’t buy you a computer you’ll want to play games on.
Hell, the average gamer spends about half that on the monitor alone.

SpectatorI believe the 530 was the time and not the price…but you can get a good gaming computer for less than $600 if you piece one together, my suite mate just did it…

SpectatorI spent 670 on mine. No monitor tho’. Does its job imho.

Spectatorhe said he is going at 5:30. not that he wants to spend 530. and i have a regular pc from dell. just for like school nothing special. not even a floppy drive or a special vid card. and i get 99fps and i usually don’t lag or anything in games like cs. and i leave like an internet explorer with 3 tabs open, and aim, and another internet explorer for online radio. and sometime vent and xfire. so you don’t need to buy a gaming computer to get goodies like that =)

Spectator~100 fps in CS isn’t really that great. That’s about the most you’ll get from integrated but keep in mind most integrated chipsets won’t play CSS and if it does you won’t be anywhere near happy with the experience. If you’re going to spend the money, at least get something that’ll last a few years.

(You may be running Direct3D/OpenGL), but CSS requres Direct3d, and a ballsy video card to play worth a *edited* as well.

SpectatorYou need to look for a monitor with the highest contrast (White to Black crispness level) and low MS refresh. A score of under 4ms and 2000+ contrast should be alright for gaming. If you want the best bargin go on newegg.com and get next day shipping if anything.

SpectatorI just bought a 22 inch Samsung Widescreen with a 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 2ms response time. It has basically replaced my TV.

Spectatorafter having reverting back to my 15 inch monitor that’s about 14 years old (my second computer i owned that i got in middle school), i finally relented and let my fiancee buy me the 19″ Samsung flatscreen one. getting it tomorrow for VDay. i’m still tempted to try to hook it up to my 61″ tv, but i don’t the experiment justifies the headache of me trying to hook it up
