Restart really shouldn’t be an option in services management.

For the record, I was talking about your restart of IIS.

SpectatorThere is an easy fix to this problem that Liam has been made aware of. We can either individually stop the firedaemon apps (which are most likely what hung up on shutdown) and make sure they died peacefully or shutdown /f /r in command prompt. The latter is much easier and equally, if not more, effective.

SpectatorShutdown -f -r would be better. It guarantees that the system will reboot. Stopping the services individually works but if you miss just one you’re screwed until you can get someone to let you into that closet.
