Oh Malley
SpectatorI’m stepping down as console council leader. I’m doing so for personal reasons. Furthermore, I would to see someone else take my position. I will be available for whoever does take my position for advice. I, however, will still be a participating member of this club.

SpectatorI know you were kinda being run raggid at the last LAN. Probably a good idea to concentrate on your studies. What are the responsibilities of the console leader?

SpectatorResponsibilities are as follows: Contacting potential and current sponsors, deciding what games will be played as well as what settings will be used, running said tournaments, handing out prizes.
Also, as I have tried to do, spread the word about console events, trying to hold smaller events to increase awareness. Anything that can/should be done to increase the size of the community as well as improve the quality of said community.

Spectatorits really not that hard,,
Contacting potential and current sponsors: how long does an email take to send.. we already have them writ up, just need to send them out.
deciding what games will be played as well as what settings will be used: these are typically decided at the meetings where you get everyones input
running said tournaments, handing out prizes: all this is making an announcement to get everyone over b/c the tourney is about to start.
we really need people to step up in the club, alot of us are leaving at the end of this semester, and you dont wont people jumping in cold turkey, we are all here to help… untill grad day

SpectatorIt was rough on me last semester because I was doing this position, and the M.A.’s job as well. The only downside is that at LANs, as council leader, you’re in charge of overseeing a lot of tournament, which can run at the same time and overlap. Yeah.. I appoint some volunteers, but I always check in to make sure things are running smoothly. And generally, there are a lot of last minute sign-ins, so I have to adapt and update brackets constantly, even mid-tournament.

You did a great job and I hate to see you go, but I definitely understand where you are coming from.
