Maps? Contra, Dust 2, Strata, Crane(I’d like to see this for semi-final), Season, Strike, Inferno, Nuke(highest probablity since we ain’t played it in a long time), Mill(I remove this map myself from being in the semi-finals, other execs can do the same for other maps), Fire.

Do yall want auto-join? Pre-made Bracket(s) have failed every time ;)

Free pass through the first round of play? Perhaps make this SK or Deagle5?

Just to remind everyone this tourney is that last one of the day, coming after 1.6.

Mark Dolven, General Manager of the Carolina Core is sending us some prizes for this tourney, much appreciated.

    Autojoin. Dont setup brackets.

    #30314

even when we set up brackets it wasn’t fair,, their are just to many variables.. then only way to make it fair is to keep auto-joined the people that move up… in the past after the 1st team we have always switched sides and stuck with the same team… hence if you have nubz on one five vs. kuros’s on the other its just epic raped for the entire tourney… but auto-joined every round/map makes for a random mix up… and the only down side to this is you “might” play ct twice on d2,, but who cares if the teams are fair and balanced.. not really as much *edited*ing from playing the same side if you have a different team opposted to getting raped by switching side same team…

also gotta do maps people know… however we do have a freaking month to learn how to play crane (btw: is this map on the server?) if you wait for an official lan maplist it needs to be maps everyone has heard of and played.. but if its a good custom map and we are given a month to learn to play it,, i wouldnt complain.

    my maplist

    Everyone Autojoins

round 1) some FY map (iceworld or equivalent)

    Everyone Autojoins

    round 2) D2

Cut bottom # for highest combine scores from both maps.

    Everyone Autojoins

    round 3) nuke

    Everyone Autojoins

    round 4) inferno

Cut bottom # for highest combine scores from both maps.

    Everyone Autojoins

round 5) crane/d1/ or aztec (5v5 maps not bad)

    Everyone Autojoins

    round 6) mill

    1v1 D2 long A

    No aztec or dust1 kthx.

That’s actually a reall good way to do it in fact. Shorter rounds and such.

    #30403

Stick with maps that people will not have to download, etc for earlier rounds and then move to maps that are smaller and more fitted for a 5v5 type environment for the later rounds.

Auto-join permanently is a good idea but can still be flawed, people can sit and hold tab to view teams until a spot opens on the team that looks better so that they can join it, etc. Still better than brackets and saves time, imo.

simple fix to that is if we catch them then they are on the other team then they selected

and its not really going to matter untill its 5v5 b/c thats the round that determins 1’s and 2ed and that’s easly assignable

PS: would you guys rater play 2 different maps or the same map twice from each side?

i vote for something different, lets mix it up

    #30476

Difference is good, all for it.

Yeah I say go with the 2 maps then tally em together as a round, with three total rounds, so a total of six maps eh?

Round 1 12-15 mins each map

    de_dust2/de_nuke/de_inferno/de_piranesi/de_aztec/de_cbble PICK 2

Round 2 12-15 mins each map

    de_train/de_chateau/de_cpl_mill/de_cpl_fire/de_contra PICK 2

Round 3 12-15 mins each map

de_crane/de_inferno/de_season/de_cpl_strike PICK 2(Strike is just a possibility, I would not mind seeing any two of the first three, I’m not super hot for Strike, it’s up to yall though)

    final is cs_office or de_dust2 Long A

OR we can make it just the classic competitive maps, dust2,nuke,train,inferno, final. I’d prefer some combination of the first option though with more and different maps this time. Some people don’t like to just play one map and get knocked out ya know, I remember some people voicing their discontent about the previous setups we had.

i like this… I think the fy map as a pre-game wouldn’t show skill, and should be cut!

    #30502

by having a FY map/s “before” the tourment official starts is great way to warm up. and it would premet people to join early and be ready while the rest of the noobs are signed in. but this is all pree game.. no cuts just a fun warm up map.
