What’s the difference between a VAC ban and being banned by a server admin?

VAC bans are permanent and cannot be reversed. They only affect secured servers and so you can continue playing on “unsecured” servers.

I’m really sorry, I won’t do it again, please can I be unbanned?

No – please re-read the other information provided on VAC bans

But it wasnt my fault, my little bro must have done it

There are NO excuses – your account is your responsibility!

IIRC, since the introduction of VAC2 in 2004, VAC bans have been permanent rather than lasting 1 year.

It’s straight from Valve at http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-bin/st…php?p_faqid=370

    Important

All VAC bans are permanent – Valve has a zero-tolerance policy for cheating.

I’m not doubting this happened to you, but it must have been before the introduction of VAC2, like I stated in my original post. Otherwise, you are Jesus, my friend.l
