I guess the issue of being blind to the issue is an issue that cannot be resolved.
But you will never truely resolve anything for a communal space by only seeing from one or a limited perspective. The sadest part is that there are two sides and both are pretty much reflections of each other, the rule just serves to benefit one group of people while making life harder on another when an Admin chooses to do so. The game isn’t perfect so I guess the rules don’t have to be either.
But frankly I don’t trust the loop-hole of allowing Admins to interfere with clans on a whim, as had been happening, which brought around the retaliation of as far as I know one individual, which then leads to arguements and strife and then the resolute impression that Admins now have totalitarian power when dealing with clans, specifically DcPN which represents a good sized portion of the active playing community.
Yes as you say, you can’t ban tags, nor can you moderate clans without tags, nor social circles which dominate and upset the team balances far more than clans have or will.
It’s WCUGs place to choose who they support. I guess according to this rule being used by some as an anti-clan device, I would be wrong to assume they support their public community as a whole or that they in one way support any part of it. Obviously according to what you say WCU Gaming supports its non-affiliated individuals which is most likely the servers minority, over their affiliated ones. And anyone in a clan will have to forgo their individual rights they were previously allowed, unless they’re sneaky and wear no tags or do not declare clan affiliation in which case stacking is fine. Because all too often its an Admins team that gets stacked, and not all admins are as good as Goat and the like.
Some Admins use loop-holes too. Some Admins like to “… don’t see …” when it benefits them and seemingly see more than anyone else when when things don’t go their way.
If Rules allow such things to happen, then they’re no longer rules, they’re just become officially recognized excuses.
I am not being blind to the issue, I’m just stating that there is no changing of it due to the implications that would be taken into effect if we allowed clans to stack.
The admins are kept on a leash, and a tight one at that. Anything that they say and/or do is kept on log files that are checked regularly for any abuse. Admins are allowed to use their own judgment when it comes to clans stacking, ghosting, etc. If a clan shows up with 3+ members then they are to be split proportionally so to prevent ghosting to the best extent that we are able to. Clans (or teams) are viewed typically as better players because they’re on that team, and while this is not the case most of the time, it still brings views about the server and whomever runs and owns the server back to those that run and own the servers. Our admins don’t have “totalitarian” power when it comes to the server. Because of the way our club is founded, the executives are the head admins and are the ones that make the decisions whenever they are in the server. When an executive is not present then the admins are law. We don’t just accept anyone to become an admin for our servers and those that screw up and turn out to not be such great admin choices are revoked of their administrative powers. Now when concerning DCPN, true they are a large populous of our server. Why? Because they all first started playing and stayed on our server. They were there when we split up the earlier clans, such as aCe and whatever team blgx had. They knew the rule and agreed and asked for us to split up the clans when they stacked, and now that they are a team, they need to abide by this same very rule they wanted enforced when they weren’t in one.
People do not forgo their individual rights when they enter our server and not one single person is supported and affiliated with the gaming club unless they are an executive, an on-campus student with administrative rights, or an admin that we approve. Anyone that becomes an admin must read and agree to the rules we have stated for admins and must be a part of our community. Those that play in our server have the choice whether to read the MoTD which includes our rules and then thusly abide by them or not. If they come in and decide to not agree to our rules then justification ensues and the issue is handled by our admins or executives. By clicking the “OK” button whence upon entering our server, they forgo the ability to do ANYTHING but play the game and abide by our rules. The rules aren’t complex, the rules aren’t hard, and the rules are extremely simple to follow. If the clans wish to not wear their tags and play together, then if the teams are properly balanced and both sides have an equal chance of winning, then that is fine. If they decide to remove their tags, ghost, and unbalance the teams then appropriate action will take place.
If admins are using “loop-holes” to better themselves, their score, or something else then please inform any of us either on the forums, a PM, an IM, or on IRC about this issue and the administrator in question will be reprimanded appropriately.
