Mr. Freeman
SpectatorSo we all know that the CS:S server is set to handle, what, like 18v18 games?? Haha.
But seriously, please turn that down. Past about 12v12 the lag is just… Unbearable.
Always glad to whine for a change, and sincerely yours (more Brian and Killy’s than everyone’s, though)(and Kuros gets none o mah shat),
Mr. Freeman.

SpectatorOh, and having the warmups cut down… Say to 60seconds would be really nice.
They’re just a bit too long, now.

SpectatorHell no they ain’t coming down!

SpectatorThat makes me sad.

Spectatormax player needs to lower. I get *edited*ed too often from lag. This game makes my blood pressure high enough as it is.

SpectatorThe Freeman is totaly right. Once the server gets up into the 25+ players the lag starts getting awful retarded and it makes it incredibly hard to play. And sometimes we are managing to finish a couple rounds in the warmup time, which is a bit excessive.

In fact, T’s planted the bomb and exploded it twice yesterday. Roflcopter.

SpectatorThe warm up time stays because I like it, so get over it. The player limit stays because it’s not the problem with the server, so get over it.

SpectatorThe only bonus to having warmup is so people with slow *edited* computers can still play pistol round, but a warmup round this long is only useful for say… Militia as it loads so *edited* slow -.-
Warmup should be brought down to about 30 secs, no longer… as others have said, the objectives are actually being completed and like 2 or 3 warmup rounds are common o.0
February 19, 2007 at 9:08 pm #16934Kuros
SpectatorThat’s only because part of mani is busted. It stays.

SpectatorI’ve only seen one round of warm up, when it starts another the timer runs out and the actual game starts, warm up time is fine, I agree with kuros on this one.

SpectatorI’m actually trying to fix the respawn during warm up.

Spectatorhmm
February 20, 2007 at 3:33 pm #16957Falcon
Spectatorby the way, during the warmup rounds, since they’re not serious, is there a way that the timer on that could me modified such that there is no <too late to spawn> time?
February 20, 2007 at 3:37 pm #16959gxti
SpectatorTechnically, yes. Just set buytime to some absurdly high number. Don’t know how to automate that, though.

SpectatorYeah, even 12v12 games aren’t that much fun in source. I personally feel most maps are designed for no more than 8v8 but since it is a pug 12v12 is fine ^^.
18v18 = wait til half of the players are dead and then start the hunt
.As for the warmup timer. It’s fine. It would be nice if we could get some kind of way to make that round ‘not’ have a ‘too late to spawn timer.’ As has already been discussed.

SpectatorOr the stupid respawn to work, which may entail turning off infinite grenades which is NOT going to happen.

SpectatorWooot! Lol, in a day….wow

SpectatorFor as much as I hate the warmup round, planting the bomb –> explosion is sexy points.
