SpectatorI’ve completely rebuilt the 1.6 server and upgraded to amxmodx. There’s still a lot of stuff missing, so I’m trying to collect a list here. Post if you see anything.
Known issues:
1. *FIXED* Sprays seem to be working now, let me know if you have problems.
2. /admins and other /commands are missing
3. The current high-ping-kicker talks too much, find a better one
4. Per-map configs: scoutzknivez
5. Bomb countdown timer is missing.
6. *FIXED* Some plugin is interfering with the roundtime clock, I’m looking into it.
7. Highlander system may not be set up.
Thanks for your patience! Hopefully this should clear up a lot of bugs.

Spectatorbesides /admins seems liek all teh other amx commands are working… .. also looks like the rcon commands are still working fine. …PTB is not on my FPS jumped from 30 to near 100 so you did something right..
any other problems you guys see?
October 12, 2006 at 9:10 am #13076gxti
SpectatorPTB should be on, and configured about the same as it was before.

SpectatorThe kicking bug is still going on, and some people are saying it’s still a little laggy but I don’t think it’s lagging anymore.
October 13, 2006 at 9:09 am #13137jelleyman
SpectatorI just got up with the folks in networking about the lag issues. Everything looks as it should on the networking side, and the game server has a sepearte class on the Packetshaper so games will get passed through to it with out a problem.
sorry guys. but it looks like the network isn’t the problem.
October 13, 2006 at 10:41 am #13138hEEM
SpectatorYea there still is alittle lag if it was the same server i was on early this mourning. Also registry is somewhat lacking. The only difference this time is that it is at random one minute it will work fine the next minute it will lag for 5 mins then the nest it will be fine. It is on and off. Don’t really see a drastic change in my packet loss, ping, or choke when it happens either. Do you think it could be a certain mod or something you are using?
October 13, 2006 at 10:47 am #13139gxti
SpectatorGuess my work here is not done. All legacy plugins, including PTB, are being removed to try and clean things off even more.

SpectatorAtleast we have admin. Split would have a cow if he saw this tread.

Spectatorsplit had a cow? very interesting lol is that why he doesnt like me? oh well ill send him a link to here by AIM today. i wanna see his cow lol

SpectatorI’ve locked the ticrate to 100 in an attempt to alleviate lag issues, it at least works as a placebo effect. Perhaps we should contact NCREN and see if they made any changes recently?
October 14, 2006 at 5:44 pm #13199wolf.cpu
SpectatorMostly everything is working well for me. No lag or anything, just a couple things are missing nothing huge. Thanks for all your hard work kore. !lol

Spectatorkore the /admins command doesnt work as you know, but also /rules doesnt work
October 14, 2006 at 8:53 pm #13208Phonetically Phamous (dice
Spectatorhe said he’s working on all the /commands in his 1st post
it will take awile to get perfect, but it will be way better once all said and done… just bare with us
you can help us out and speed up the process by listing anyhting thats not allready covered in a post above
October 14, 2006 at 9:28 pm #13215pyro urban
Spectatorok but i think kore has it covered. hes in the server everyday playing and trying to fix any lag if we have it. and he is doing a VERY good job on it. and i like the point that i get random peoples sprays. i got a bigfoot one today and a playboy bunny yesterday. id like to know how to make/upload/get a spray so i could make or use my own.
October 15, 2006 at 9:41 pm #13255Ex
Spectatorhmmm how is the server connected to the network? via a router? a strait pipe line ? or cat 5 cable ran from a modem
October 16, 2006 at 8:40 am #13282jelleyman
SpectatorOk, couple of people to address:
Kore: NCREN always lets us know when they are making a change, no changes have been made recently to any thing.
Ex: The server is connect Via Cat6 (gigabit) to the ResNet Cisco 6509 router. The box has a seperate interface and the rest of the network comes in on 4 seperate interfaces. Traffic is then routed through our external Firewall and then out to the Cisco 6509 (NCREN) edge router (internet).
October 16, 2006 at 5:11 pm #13288gxti
SpectatorIs it supposed to have two interfaces up? I only see one active, windows claims the other is unplugged.
October 16, 2006 at 5:21 pm #13289Adam Faulkner
SpectatorHum! Im clueless. I have changed everything in my power to see if it will work on tron. Next move for us is to test it on the wcugaming box. That will tell us if its something on the box, or something connected to the box.
Lets set this up soon so that we can go from there. No matter what donot take the cs server on tron down. Just put another up. Ill do this sometime this week.
October 16, 2006 at 6:35 pm #13294Phonetically Phamous (dice
Spectatormaby even put a temp redirect from tron to the other box…
if your even allowed to redirect a redirect? just an idea, not shure if its possable. but if it is this will make everyone think that they are playing on the orgional box, (so teh traffic will be the same).
just an idea, take it with a grain of salt
October 17, 2006 at 12:40 am #13302Adam Faulkner
SpectatorYea, but stats are built on ip, the stats dont redirect. And chaning the ip’s of both box’s isnt an option. Stats know if they are real connections or not. We have enough people and friends to populate the box. We will set it up shortly.
October 17, 2006 at 6:57 am #13305jelleyman
SpectatorYea, the box has 2 interfaces, only one is plugged in.
October 18, 2006 at 9:59 am #13325wispy
Spectatoryeah there is just a tiny bit of lag left
October 18, 2006 at 11:45 am #13328gxti
SpectatorHrm, for some reason I was under the impression it was sitting on two sides of a firewall or something – it did sound silly at the time.
October 18, 2006 at 4:52 pm #13343Adam Faulkner
SpectatorIm thinking that it has to be. We are on the resnet and the admin side of the network.
October 18, 2006 at 5:39 pm #13350JBstrikesagain
Spectatori messaged kore_wa about this on IRC but he is away atm. I see yall are running the server on windows. I’ve personally never run a dedicated server on windows, however for the registry problems I’ve been told the way to get windows to inrease its timing rate is to open a windows media player and just leave it open. It will increase the windows clock/timing rate( or ticrate). Then your server will run fps more stable.. you can check the fps in console by typing stats.. over and over and over and watch to see if it’s stable.. it needs to be stable or shots won’t register well.
Sorry if I’m repeating stuff yall already know, I run the App cs. 1.6 server and shot registration has been killing me ever since I started running it. Just recently I am making some progress.. it’s linux and I had to tweak the kernel a lot and it’s finally boosted to 500 fps, however it’s still not stable.. sigh.

SpectatorAdam said thanks, ‘ I didn’t know anything about windows media player and its relationship to server registry. Our problem seems to be a network issue, and nothing we can really fix in the box. However, we do need to do some investigation before we can confirm the issue/solution.’

No no no… there are no network bridges like that. the Box just sits on the ResNet network, it has it’s own VLan trunk that gets it to the ResNet interface and it stays way out of the Admin network.
Sorry for the confusion

Spectatorjelly can you get on AIM i want to ask you something
October 21, 2006 at 12:20 pm #13388Adam Faulkner
SpectatorEx there is no need to bug him about the network and or the cs server. We are doing all we can.
