OK I think I have told kek and several other administrators how I feel about the word ‘*edited*’ or any likeness of that word be it ‘nucca’ ‘*edited*’ Whatever is very hurtful, and widely synonymous with racism. I don’t see why it is considered ‘cool’ or why it is considered ‘fun’ to use these words. I would expect that most administration would be respectable enough not to use it.
Apparently this assumption is wrong. Since not even 15 mins ago Rossy thought it was ‘cool’ to come into the server as Big*edited* whatever he was using as his name. When I said something about it he felt it ok to tell me to stfu and muted me. So then when I said he abused admin as my username he kicks me because I wouldn’t change it back till he apologized for all that is said above as well as calling me kid? What is with that? … because you really do know me and know for a fact you are older than me. This is very disrespectful and childish behavior that I would expect from a ‘kid’ not a administrator of your server.
I do enjoy playing there (WCU Server) and being chill, but this overuse of racist terms and childish bahavior prevents me from keeping my cool and having a good time. I am of African decent and I am African-American. You might not understand why I take offense to this, but I do and I think it is part of your rules to not use racist or vulgar terms such as these.
I don’t think I am being unreasonable for asking for an apology and being brash when someone throws around words such as these without proper understanding of what it means to some people. I have friends that won’t touch Counter-Strike 1.6 because racism is widely known through it.
For the mean time I would appreciate it if you could curb the use of these words and discourage administration from the use of it, and the abuse of their privileges when resulting in confrontation after they know what they have done is wrong and instead apologize for said actions.
It isn’t a hard concept to grasp, and it is something that needs major consideration by your administration.

Yeah, I completely agree with you. Things need to change, not just solely racism towards African Americans, but towards all the races people discriminate against in the servers. Plus, it is making the image of our college negative.
i try to keep it in hand when I’m on the server i am sorry that you had to hear those comments towards your. I will continue to try and make sure racist comments are not being used when I’m in the server and racist names are not being used . If you can the next time it happens hopefully it won’t please go to our irc channel i think were adding a link to it to the website to better help our guests of the server in there times of need
I would go to your IRC, but unfortinately at my college (MTSU) IRC is blocked on all ports. They instituted Cisco Clean Access here to monitor all bandwidth usage. I also totally agree with princess. Earlier yesterday I saw some hispanic kids getting insulted and called racist remarks as well. It is an on going thing within the WCU server. I can deal with it to some degree, but Rossy set me off when he came into the server named as Big*edited*. Whether you are administration or not I am gonna say something as I would assume anyone would.

I have banned numerous people for using racism..I give people 2 or 3 chances to quit until they get banned..there are some people( club members)..I wont mention names.. that need to coo l it with that stuff..I never found it funny…

Adambomb is going to be very upset when he gets up. The head admins on the server will take care of this. Please post any screen shots that you have as proof of this.
i dont have screenies i just have demos which i will have to go through because they have different names. im sure you can ask ex if this happened. you shouldn’t have kept him up late ashley. with the prank calls to me when i was asleep, bad personal secretary! muahahaha lol.

i agree with heem. and the thing is there are usually no admins until about 1 or 2 pm during the day. and at random times during the evening and the night, because you guys are scrimming or doing something and you therefoire don’t go in the server. if i think there is a hacker i call dice using aim, but i dont want to bug him for someone being rascist. someone said to me ‘white boy got owned!’ and i said ‘**** off’ ex actually muted me and i have that in a demo somewhere because i always have demo’s running when kore is in with me.
I don’t remember me saying that, but if I did I apologize. I normally don’t say anything unless provoked. A lot of the players of FvR are either Korean or African-American a few white, but a recent increase in racist garbage might have caused a few to lash out. As I said before a lot of my friends don’t touch the game due to racism. My roomy metaph0r.kr as well as his friend Grubby.kr play for us. Do those names ring any bells? I don’t think Grubby would say anything, but metaph0r gets pretty heated in game sometimes lately due to some accusations being made.
I don’t consider white boy racist as much as if they called you cracker or something. It is the same concept as someone calling me black or black guy (which happens regularly), but to each his own. Let me know any information you got.

The one thing that I don’t get is that rossy connects, then changes his name about 1 min later and you make comments like ‘owned by a black man at your own game’ and when Ross tells you that your annoying and you need to shut up you get really defensive and change your name. Not to mention that you keep the name FvR BigCrackerhEEM for 2-3 maps. Did you think we were going to overlook this? If I would have came in and saw that name I would have kicked you or banned you for a day. Just because it was there and if I saw Ross with his name I would have banned him also until the upper admins sorted it out. But don’t think we are going to overlook your actions also my friend. Why would a person who is against racism stoop that low. AND THEN come into our forums and ask for an apology.

The cleanest server is a empty server. 
Anyway you make it sound like we are supporting this. You know that we don’t. As for the most part our servers are clean of racism. The only time I will ban someone and it may be taken as racism is because of their language. If someone comes in with a 200+ ping and are talking over the mic ghosting In a foreign language I will ban them. Because 2 reasons. 1 they are not likely to become a WCU student being that they don’t even live on this continent, and 2 it’s very unfair that they ghost and it is against the rules. Other than that nobody is banned at random.yea i find a lot of it too… and heem… i do understand what you are sayin but i have always had an argument about this… black people can say it to each other, as in a way to say ‘you are my boy’. but if they dont want others (diff races) to say it to them or around them, then why do they cont. to use it… you dont see white people sayin.. ‘whats up honky’…
i understand in the past… the white man has used it for wrong reasons… but what most of the black people that i know at least, dont realize, is that they are completely hypocritical with it (much as you were when u changed ur name until ross would apologize). black people dont wanna be called ‘*edited*s’ by anyone other than black people. but then they turn around and use racist terms about other races… ex: calling a white person ‘whiteboy’ ‘honky’ ect, ect…
although whiteboy does not have the past that ‘*edited*’ might have, you have to realized when someone of one race, uses a term to single out another race, it IS racism… no matter what the term…

I know you don’t support it, and most if not all of the admins don’t either. I’m saying that people do it in the server that don’t even go to this school, and those are the ones we need to watch for. And you’re right, it’s a public place, it’s not going to be perfect and people are going to be offended, but we have to stop what we can. For the most part though, the servers seem clean.
Let’s get a few facts straight here for the record. Yea I did use that name after seeing him use his big*edited*sonice name, but only after I was muted. I responded back to an immature name and getting instantly muted by making one. Maybe that is hypocritical, but the amount of times I get called *edited* in a server spans near 100 a day, and muting me on top of that gives me my reasons. I said once he joined ‘yea you should change your name’ and after I said that I was told to stfu and was muted. Then I proceeded to change my name and use the same childish behavior he resorted too. I play eye for an eye now because I am quite frankly tired of being the butt of everyone elses amusement.
When I was unmuted next map cranberryjuice and I were talking about MD* Big Mac because he was owning it up and was talking about how we wanted Mcdonalds. I even asked what MD stood for, and someone said Mcdonalds. Then cranberryjuice changed his name to McChicken, and before he left he said ‘I’m out’ and I asked ‘going to get some McChicken?’ because it was a running joke based on the guys name. It wasn’t starting anything with anyone so to repeatedly mute me again after that for no reason was really awesome. I don’t say things back to people unless they provoke it. If they use a racist term I say something back if they whine about something in game that is stupid I refute it.
Also in response to veritas I don’t use any version of the word with any of my friends. We have the general understanding that *edited*, nucca, *edited*, whatever you want to call it is the same *edited* thing. Same meaning different pronouncing. It isn’t anything new and I think any person of my culture that is dumb enough to think it means something different is just what the word means ‘ignorant’. That is what they are calling eachother when they use it in any other form. You will never catch me on the server using it either. As for white/black since generally white people are too lazy to profile me as African-American and just call me black I don’t see the difference. If you can’t take the time to call me African-American than why should I take the time to call you anything but white? You call it Racial profiling, but you people do it to me everyday all day. Why should I better myself when the majority of you can’t better yourselves? I ask these questions all the time. Don’t take this as a personal insult to you veritas maybe you are on the good path, but majority of people who play CS 1.6 or who are white in general do the same things. Not all of them use racist terms, but all of they call me black I know that much for sure. I was in the wrong by lashing back, but when your at my point you only take so much till you hit back. Thats how most people react by instinct.
Also in your defense ross this isn’t the first time you have done something stupid like this cause I have seen you use nucca and *edited* before several times like it is a ‘cool’ thing to do. That Big*edited*sOnIce *edited* was enough, but then you mute me right off for saying ‘you should change the name’. Thats why I changed my name is because you wanted to cross the line further. You have no one, but yourself to blame. Call me a liar all you want you know what your name was, you know u muted me right off and started this stuff, and you know you got what you deserved. I am not going to back down to punks that think its cool to use that word for whatever purposes. It is just what it means and always will mean plain ignorance.
In the long run I wasn’t the one starting this whole mess and the one causing the problems. Also I have a feeling your buddy you pugged with if he was smart wouldn’t have aproved of that retarded name either. If you think being racist helps you fit in and is cool that is pretty sad and pretty shaddy, and yes I did come here and ask for an apology from ross because last time I checked he started it and brought it on himself by muting me just for saying ‘you should change that name’. Develop whatever little preconceived notions you want that is pretty much all there is too it.
If you don’t control the racism of people who run the server why should I be on good behavior especially when I didn’t start the drama? :/

You don’t seem to understand what I am saying ross. The Name thing wasn’t the only issue at hand. If you read the logs thats exactly what u did soon as I said something about your name. You didn’t give me much of a chance to explain myself or do anything u just muted me. It isn’t about just the name it is about u muting me consistantly for reasons that aren’t understandable.
Bashing people? Only person I recall bashing was some guy complaining about someone awping or something and I said something to him other than that there was no bashing. It was mostly cranberryjuice and I joking around which btw we did earlier today not even a few hours ago.

I’m sorry if you consider this issue a ‘waste’ of your time. I can move past it and get over it, but I don’t like being muted for no reason and I didn’t like the name issue, and it is a combination of the 2 issues is why I lashed out not just one.
Also I am not trying to drag WCU’s name through the mud. This was the actions of one admin not any others in the organization so don’t misconstrew it as that please.I’m not out to make a martyr of someone based on a racist name used either I just want to come to an understanding on the situation.

as far as teh amx_mute it only blocks/mutes typing… you can still talk Via Mic back and forth… join the other team if alltalk is not on so you and teh other guy can talk about Mc D’s.
i agree with ross in that if someone was using raceism/bashing/offending comments its best to block them from typing them out.
this is teh 1st time in nearly 2years something like this has came up. by making this thread you have allready reminded every admin to keep an eye out for raceism. and it should not happen to anyone agen on our servers.
