its my understanding that there is a LAN planned for the beginning of the next semester.
BUT WHAT IF YOU DONT WANT TO WAIT THAT LONG? ?!
heres my idea:
game club members, WCU students, and other locals should IRC or Vent sometime to discuss the best time and place for a SUMMERBREAK LAN. !amazed
ideas for places: local churches, members home, school.
I’d be willing to host if you guys want to come to the Charlotte/Concord area. its right off I-85

Roffles, i have a summer job, but i would take off if we could get enough people. I wouldnt want to worry about getting sponsors. We would just charge a small entry fee to cover the prizes.

Roffles, anyway i need to get some things squared away at home before i move off and try to run a summa lan
If we want to do a summer lan we will need to charge, mainly because it is no longer convienent for anyone. But you guys need to think about some of the logistics, price of gas, prices of prizes, limited sponsors, prices of food and drinks, location, cost of renting or reserving the room, advertising costs, etc. Just keep these things in mind, before you guys put too much effort into this. I don’t want this to bomb.
I have an idea, Maby it couls be a regional Tourry, Everyone for the charotte area is on a team, Vs everyone ealts,,, you get the point..
Cuts the price of gass to nearly nothing and rooming is free.. Just have a server thats passworded and play,,, screw prizes… just for fun..
well i ahve some stuffwritten down.

Well adam37 i wouldn’t take anything from the ncsu guys i haven’t been playing there for a while and they have some very good people that not only go to school there but close to the school. But i thought it would be a cool thing to do it towards the end of the summer as for a end of the summer blow out . Where we would all meet at one location and setup one of the biggest lans i would say wcu has seen in a while I’m talking 150 people at one place at one time. i use to run a ut03 lan and the most we had was 200 people using 10 boxes to load all the games we were running it was 20 a person and you brought your own system and at the end we would have a tourney and the winner got 60 percent of the cash
Ok this is a little upsetting that this meeting has been set up for a while now and have had a good amout of people talking about a lan yet the only people that showed up on the vent were jorman and myself and ac3. I realy donnt like people waisting my time if people say there going to do something then they need to stay true to there word. I can even understand that *edited* comes up but if you knew you werent going to be there for a meeting you could atleast posted about it instead of doing nothing at all. Now i nw there are going to be those that think im being harsh and you can think that but i said i would be on vent and i was there more than i can say for others that just didnt show up or post or anything
i hate u all…like ex said, we were the only people there. you were ALL suppoesed to be ther!
look, it wont be alot of work if we all work together on this. so c’mon.

Jorman, you got to remimber that during the summer people have alot more going on, no fixed schedules really vs school schedules which are pretty fixed. I’m sorry that no one else other than 2 other people showed up. It might just be a waist of time to keep planning something this big. But you can always put that effort into the first fall lan in September.
