Today I found out someone can be a good friend for an entire year and then the second you say something that changes what they wanted, they flip and hate you over nothing.
Never had this happen to me before. Probably will happen again as well, but it’s a new experience for me.
My dad was furious with me for not arranging somewhere to live next year and told me to stop trying to room with my friend and just get a place by myself. I call my friend and tell him thinking “oh this is something he will need to know asap”. I tell him that my dad wants me to live alone and I exhausted all means of reasoning with him. I would imagine he would be upset, but still try to understand. Instead he lectures me on being “spineless” and a terrible person for not defying my dad and hangs up on me. He also insulted my father (which is a big no-no in my book).
I think it’s retarded to get angry over something like this when all you had prior was “oh sure ill live with you” as an arrangement. He already has another guy to live with and we hadn’t started looking yet. I just think it’s silly the way he reacted.
